Trust me I thought about it If it'd broke back when I was welding I'd have been on the case Probably broke when I was about 8 though wasn't quite weilding the stick yet It is fair ol broke though, I'll take a photo if i remember.

of course it's fixable you'm a farmer ... can bodge anything with some baler twine

I was looking in my photos for my last baler twine bodge but found this instead
Evening project and a bit of channel I found in the corner of a shed, made a mount for a PTO generator which used to be mounted to the floor, now can stick it on the forks and use it anywhere. Being a 540 machine its great becuase can just have the tractors which have 1000spd pto on near enough tickover.

Have since added a shopping basket on one side and a crate on the other, for throwing the inverter stick and a few bits and bobs in, handy thing to have when you need it.

are those the ones you put on an inflatable hub Mike ... never tried one but looks good ... 36 grit'd have that out in minutes

No it’s more a solid rubber wheel with splits in t so when it spins up the rubber expends a little under centrifugal force and keeps the band in place.

Dremel have one like that, only instead of the rubber expanding with centrifugal force it expands with a screw on the top

Did the agricultural deed on the quickhitch today, still got to make the pins tomorrow though so its not back on yet, but did have it tested earlier and it all fits up good The amount of wobble in the thing has really changed, will have virtually no slop when we next use it
Basically just took it off and set to it with a carbide burr on the die grinder. Then splashed some weld down on the edges, where it had worn out more, and ground it down to match with the carbide burr. Bit rubbish with taking photos along the way though. I did take a couple however.

Based upon where the last QH broke:

I decided to add a bit of a brace, because even though this QH looks better built, I don't want it to go and die after doing work on it lol
So I cut this little chap out with the gas axe, cleaned it up, ground some bevels in and welded 'er in proper solid (hopefully)

Not the most perfect fitup in history but it'll do. I'll be a bit annoyed if it does break now hahah

next job is re-assemble the busted one ..... you look more than capable of doing a decent job on rebuilding it ... or maybe you'd be tempted by this

Thanks, I try, only started getting into this kind of stuff a year or so ago now, I've still got plenty to learn

I think I could have it back together with the materials I've got in the shed too but I don't need 2 Qh for one digger

Saw that the other day thought it'd be a bit handy

Finished converting the last of the buckets to 50mm today, all went smoothly, had an apprentice welder in the shed, little brother comes in and I ended up teaching him a bit of stick, grasped it quicker than I thought he would.
Ended up giving him some pin ends/ears to weld on. They're not perfect or beautiful but they'll hold and he enjoyed it. Saved me some time too

Got a 'new' tig welder the other day, shouldn't have, it wasn't a bad price and I was only going to spend money on a lesser machine somepoint down the line anyway.
Need to pick up some welding cable for it, didn't come with an earth or an electrode holder for stick welding, both things I'd like to have, what have people found to be the best cable for curling up nicely. (Online ideally!) (reason I ask is some that came with my inverter stick doesn't coil, its horrible stuff to manage but nice otherwise)
Never held a tig torch in my life until it arrived, got some learning to do thats for sure

A 50cc Pug moped Pitbike tyres and its extremely capable offroad, uses bugger all fuel, goes through puddles deeper than it should. Wicked bit of kit

Mind you the tyres weren't half a bugger to get seated and one came off the other day, helluva job to get the bead back on They're a bit thin for the wheels really

Yeah I've heard that too, got to find somewhere to get gas ideally rent free, might take some finding with the current situation
