Worth buying for the rams alone

no it’s all there you have to tip the forks then side shift the ram then crowd back and work the ram the other way and it shuffles the forks across

You need the forks with the lugs on the back rather than screw locks other than that it's all there

I don't think they fit all q fit headstocks either. I'm sure the only ones I've seen them fitted to only have one centre hook in the middle to support the bar the forks are on not 2. Someone else may know better but usually see them on 14m+ handlers which have slightly different headstock

Your right I think the headstock is different I remember there easily bent with a bucket on if there setup for sideshift and the center hook has 2 hooks for supporting the ram as well as the fork bar it's a pity really because it's a good system once you've got your head round it

Yep our newer loadall has this side shift option and it has a different headstock to the standard machines. Only has about 8" of shift then you have to (as mog says) crowd and shift to get further. Is a bit of a pain to drop the forks on and off too as it's fiddly to line back up. We tend to use the other machine when swapping out the attachments.

Surely it's easier just to have a set of hook on forks on a sideshift carriage? Probably cheaper also. I mean, if you're needing side shift you're probably not needing max load capacity.

Aye to be honest, I don't see the point of sideshift on a 4wheel steer telehandler. A twitch of the steering wheel is enough to shift over a bit. What would be handier is a fork positioner to open an close the fork gap.

It isn't side shift though its hydraulically adjustable width. The bigger handlers you see it on generally aren't doing any bucket work (may not even be recommended) so forks are likely permanent fixture.

No it's definitely just side shift. It's exactly the same as the one we have, the two sides move together. You can run with one fork out of the slots and can just have one fork moving on the side shift but then that fork needs to be fully to one side and it restricts the side shift movement by 4”. And if you go too far it hooks that fork back into the slot and your back with them moving together

Thoughts on this weeks Leeds euro auction.. prices seem to be abit more settled maybe? Telehandlers are still really strong money, rollers and backhoes look to be at pre-pandemic/brexit prices.
Am still looking for a decent tractor myself but they are getting hard to find - euro auctions never has been a good one to find tidy tractors at.

You can use it as a fork positioner you tilt the carriage to just the right angle and the longer lugs on one side will catch on only one fork it's a bit of a fad but with practice it's quite easy to use once you have a eyeball for the angle of dangle

skipped a 10t set in me clear out .... been 'outdated' / superseded by load cells

Get a pivot steer then you can widen narrow and sideshift from the cab with practice
