Seven-league boots are an element in European folklore. The boots allow the person wearing them to take strides of seven leagues per step, resulting in great speed. The boots are often presented by a magical character to the protagonist to aid in the completion of a significant task.

I had to google it grandad 👴 😂
but do/did you know what a league is ? ;):giggle:

Or a shed…..
talking of sheds ...
@Mogman - any idea of a cost to collect to your yard and on to Druid central, at a convenient juncture, for one of these?
there's 4 in this auction ... wait for the link to load - it's slow
make a good start point, for what I'd like ;) and save me a bit of work

I’d be interested in one of these . Where are they ? The smaller one would suit me nicely . Any idea what the cost from a supplier would be ?

Accrington Vin .. the link'll take you to the auction and it's also in the Auction watch thread ..... would have to work out what that'd cost to make, but sure as hell a lot more than the current bids

The rafters look very thin compared to the uprights? Can’t see a size anywhere? Which says to me they are just cheap Chinese imports?
Auction shed is 20 ft bays with no purlins. You’re looking about £7 per sq ft (ish) to put up an Agri spec shed with concrete roof. Double that again if you want walls and a floor . (Something that I have in the pipeline)
That 60x40 frame is probably worth £6-7K plus the buyers premium maybe?

254 rafters and 305 columns'd be my best guess ... 's ok for the span

They sometimes have prices of general basic builds which just goes up from there. Just gives you an idea of cost. Will be low spec light weight but still an option

What’s the score with building regs with something like this?

Are the light weight ones just for Ag use or would they meet regs as a Comercial workshop for example?
It doesn't meet the regs. When you apply for planning and building warrant you have to have plans drawn up and someone with an SER certificate (I think it's called) does structural calculations taking into account the ground conditions, snow loadings and local wind and weather loadings on the building and specifies the construction materials, sizes and construction . The building is built to this spec and he signs it off before you get a completion certificate. I've been told it impossible to get a CE certificate for second hand buildings and in so is not possible to reuse the steelwork to put up building second hand but it does happen. If it's a super heavy duty construction building with nice big deep foundations and extra bracing everywhere, there's a chance you can get it signed off by someone but the majority of the buildings you will see at auctions are not this.
