First thought "that's a great idea"
then I wondered what alloys they are using to need this protection?
Are they going "above and beyond" to produce ultra long life engines or is it a band-aid to compensate for a compromise elsewhere.

That said, I wish coolant filters were more common.
I'm talking of experience with 70,s / 80,s Cummins in me cranes V504/ V555,s and 240/260/290 straight sixes ... all had at least one or two water filters fitted to their coolant systems .. weren't cheap either .. no idea if the more modern varieties still fit them?
could always fit a remote unit in the heater plumbing or any other circulatory lines, on just about any motor (y)

Had a visit by another one of these unpleasant beasts. I picked it up in the dark without realising what is - fortunately it had drowned it's self.

The prep work is being done for a storm water drain upgrade. The precast pits are cast on site and left on the footpath to cure (give me a day or two for a follow up).
I've not seen this type of mixer before, but I like it.
I know it has no doors or windscreen, but I'd still like the exhaust to be outside the cab.

Five months ago, my road got two new water mains (one down each side so they didn't have to dig crossovers(?) and beautiful new seal.
This week it's been dug up to lay a new storm water drain (it may also be a sewer - not sure).
Naturally, one of the new water mains (welded Poly Prop.) has been coming out in 2m lengths.

Not a traffic cone in site and nobody has died (no, the road isn't closed).
