Dont do any site work as such nowadays :) it looks fecking depressing but I guess its all about mindset 💪
how do you keep your conc on grade when that plastic formwork is bellying out like that ? or is it a case of near enough
It only belly’s so far so you can still get the level correct. The formwork is deliberately set higher than the finished level to allow a little tolerance!

Mindset helps but this weather has made this particular job very testing. I don’t remember having a pump on hire for so long ever!! Hopefully we are now over the worst!

Been on a very similar job until 2 weeks ago but the was finish floor level flush with the ground so with the height of block and beam it meant a lovely hole to work in
After repeated attempts all the muck was skimmed off and replaced with crush as it became impossible to work

With world going crazy I thought I had better bring some laughter and joy to the forum!!

It was a while ago I announced the acquisition of the Kobelco.

Before we go into lock down I thought I had better carry out the Christening.

Welcome to the madness.....Rainbow Dash!!

In a word “yes”.
The main issue I have with it is the site conditions have been rather wet. If (when) you are stuck in the gloop you really need to go into high power mode to get the tracks moving and secondly the blade is so close to the cab I find it almost impossible to not keep marking the rear counter weight with spoil (s**t) up against the blade!!!
Very smooth on the hydraulics and good on fuel. Very well balanced with a full bucket, cross tracks loading lorries. Glad I went for conventional boom rather than king post. Was driving the Kubota all morning with the Engcon, took me a while to realise that the buttons on the joy sticks won’t move the bucket no matter how hard you press them!!!😳😳😳😳

Do you think it's down to the rubber block pads
I've driven 2 identical hitachi 8 tonners one on blocks and one on steel the the machine on steel tracks alot better than the one on blocks

That has crossed my mind but as the other machine on rubbers is the 3 tonner I didn’t think it was a fair comparison! The tracking generally seems a bit slow and underpowered unless you press the higher mode to make it come to life. Wouldn’t stop be getting another one!! I seem to think both issues have been addressed in the latest model so I guess my comments where heard up high!!

With the schools closed we are both juggling working and entertaining our very soon to be 7year old. My older daughter texted me today asking “what does Lara want for her birthday?”. My response of “the pool at 20degrees!” Was deemed as not helpful.
Well with the Solar panels and heat pump....someone’s birthday present came a few days early......

We introduced the 20 degree rule last year when Lara started swimming in 17degrees. It made a certain part of my anatomy shrink so far onwards I thought I had a sex change!!
Notice even at 20 degree I am happy to take photos!!
