Shaun has the same thing Rory, but electrically operated .... no in/out the cab changing over ;) .... just flick a switch :giggle:
tha's a simple on/off ball valve though isn't it Aiden .... closes the tilty off completely??

Na, leave the 3 way valve slightly open to the tilt supply and mostly open to the flail. Will run both quite well. if setup right

Well add some photos of swamp city where I am currently trying to excavate for the ground beams on 2 New Houses. This weather has been trying! Glad I am not on a fixed price or would be crying! Had the Idig installed before Xmas and this week has been the first chance to get to use it. Impressed so far but will need to start saving again for another twisty thing!

cant beat a bit of roofing on a frosty morning. Looks a nice starter home for someone.
Hopefully. Garden not very big but a good size 2 bed. Took several attempts at planning. Originally refused but the LA wanted flats attached to the house on the right. So got them approved and then went for a detached house. Officer recommended refusal but I had spoke to 2 of the local councillors that spoke at the meeting for approval. 100 s**t boxes built about 500m away and you would have thought this little job was going to wreck the character of the place!!

Looks from the pic to be in the middle of a council estate, amazing the LA would even consider refusing.

Once you find a good planning consultant you dont look back. It really doesn't matter what the LA or councillors say or do if the consultant has the ducks in a row your set. Gov wants houses built and the appeal inspectors take a dim view of LA bullshit.

Agree with what you are saying and have enjoyed various battles with the planners on many issues. Even with consultants you sometimes need to go to battle as would rather get a result than go to appeal.

Cheshire has a huge problem with Jodrell Bank opposing all new builds at the moment(they have the power to put a stop to any planning app If they do so choose) but somehow the big house builders can chuck up 30+ houses with no objections...! Such a farce!!

looks a complete nightmare to work in  ..... presumably that's a ring beam cast on top of piles? ..... what's the black plastic stuff ... looks handy gear(y)

Made by a company called cordek. It is called around form and it's the se profile as corrugated cardboard
Quick way of shuttering round steel work

I don't know if I'm telling you suck eggs Shaun but we use stuff called triktrak I think rather than the sales for holding the cordek it's tracks about 1.2 meters long and allows you to back fill more firmly and get straighter more crisp edges to the beam

Yep, Cordek is a nightmare in lumpy ground like that. Always struggle to backfill it nicely and not loose the cover on the steel. Triktrak helps but the inspector has got funny about that before when its run in multiple pieces at the same height. Something about it possibly inducing a crack if its all in a straight line, so I stagger the lengths now.

Looks good though Shaun, and any progress in this weather is bloody good. Who cares what it looks like!

I took the photo of the reinforcement before we went around putting extra spacers in on the top bars. The beams where sat on 225mm thick cordeck and the black beamform was deep enough to go down the 225mm and be slightly higher than the concrete level. Biggest issue was backfilling with clay. We was able to fill most of the bottom by dragging the stone of the piling mat into the bottom of the beam but the client didn’t want to get more stone so the clay was all we had!! Struggled in places to reach around all the beams as the diggers where sinking in the swamp! The biggest problem was having to excavate and expose all the piles for the integrity testing. This meant we where struggling to get back in with the machines. And having the excavation open during this weather has meant a lot of pumping and that is just a chore!,

Just been on a site the same that's why I suggested the trick trak as it allowed the clay to be squashed in with the bucket without pushing the ground form in anywhere made it slightly neater although still not as nice as type 1

I’m bloody lucky I don’t have to deal with such crap ground like that!! Worst problem we have is a black sand which is kinda like fine topsoil..but really soft when wet and rock hard when dry so catches you out!
