Thanks - it's actually the P12 service manual I'm after.

Check out ebay item number 313420254914 for the project 12 partsbook, and 164642556025 for the operator handbook if They wont send it to OZ let me know and i will get it and post it over to you if that helps.

I've ended up buying a P12 service manual as a PDF to save on the hassle of international delivery. That turned into a minor saga when the seller sent a link for the wrong manual, but (allowing for the time difference) supplied a new link quickly.
I've got the three manuals for the P8, so hopefully this has made a set!

Trying to avoid doing some things around here, so I had a poke at the electrics.
The toggle switch indicated was hard wired to the revolving light on the roof - not the socket (there may have been one on the boom at some stage too).
The top right switch had been re-purposed for the fog lights - an odd choice as the machine has never had fog lights!

Been playing with the electrics - I know, always a good opportunity to make things worse!
I'm wondering if I put the replays back in the correct sequence as I now can't get it to turn over.
If someone with a P8 could take a pic of their fuse/relay box, it would serve as great reality check
Working through the part numbers on JCB's online parts list, the relays 'should look like this:
One of the relays (5) didn't switch properly, but measured correctly after cleaning the contacts (didn't help)
One relay was found to be a green (change over) type where a blue is spec'd, but that's ok - a green will work fine in place of a blue (but not the other way around).

Finally got the wear pads in.The fun job will be replacing the wear strips on the extra-dig. These have clearly been absent for some time running metal on metal - hopefully the wear won't cause a problem.
I assume the procedure is to fit the lower pads (as retracted as possible).
Insert the lower dipper and then position the upper pads.
Any suggestions or advice on this fun job?
Turns out what I was missing was beer.
With beer, enough mates turned up to man-handle it apart and back together again.
I'm now able to use the back end as well as the front and shorten the list of holes that needed digging.

Back in asia and out of quarantine. In the interests of confusing airline security, I've developed a habit of transport 'unusual' things in my luggage.
My next trip will include some hydraulic hoses.
Yesterday I had some spare time, so went shopping - including my local hose shop
£80 bought 12 hoses

I once found 8m of 10mm drag chain at the side of the A4232 - obviously I stopped and picked it up!
I found a small box (8m of chain doesn't take up much space), wrote my name on it and checked it in.
I got called back to security because they "couldn't see what was inside".

I took a real ball and chain (proper cannonball with 4 feet of chain and a steel locking ankle bracelet) in my snowboard bag to Andorra for a mate’s stag do. Had a word with the security guy when dropping my bag at Manchester airport and it got there no problem - the stag wore it the entire week when he wasn’t in his ski boots, it was a great success!
I just chucked it in my bag and didn’t mention it on the way home (still pissed, absolutely knackered, not massively conversational in the airport).
I was killing time in duty free waiting to be called to board when my name started being called out over the tannoy…. The long and the short of it was that I held up a fully loaded plane whilst security made me open my bag in a little building out on the apron next to the plane.
I didn’t feel hugely popular once allowed on and had to make my way the full length of the plane passed all the seated, knackered, fed up, delayed passengers who were witnessing the cause of their delay - a Hawaiian-shirted drunk dickhead stumbling to his jeering mates…

From memory, it checked in at 18kg. As you can imagine, it was a bit of a sleeper - innocent little box until you try to pick it up.

Yeah, that's been my concern.
I started with a set for the stabiliser legs (figuring a burst wouldn't be catastrophic) - so far, they've been fine.
I'm not a good enough operator to let anyone near where I'm working, so a burst hose shouldn't put anyone at risk.

I took hold luggage to Luanda once 40kgs no less one piece, an inch and a half bsp “C” top valve section for a leaking spud dump valve 4 days of clothes in hand luggage, as the “C” top and some adaptors filled the hold bag with lots of bubble wrap of course!

My boom ram has had in internal leak for some time. Despite having the seal kit on hand, I've been happily ignoring it.
Now the rod seal has sprung a leak which it rather forcing the issue.
My question: is it possible to extract the boom ram without disassembling the boom from the king post?
