How solid is the stone and gravel?

Sounds like an excuse to spend the same money as a 'camper trolley' and get a forklift. Add some big old LED lights to it too.

I just clamp a ball hitch bracket that I made to the end of the forks, but you could cut a fork down for ultimate manoverability.
Agreed or tbf my compact tractor is handy as with an a frame tow ball as no need to faff with jockey .

won't get more manoeuvrability than on the end of a 4 ft fork  .... 'cept 'praps a 6ft fork :giggle: and can offset yourself to see down the side of the trailer

No one else run a front mounted ball hitch on their vehicle ? I find that’s blooming useful for thrusting the crane trailer unit into tight spots . Cheap solution when on site .
yeh .. had 3 on the front of my old landy ... always handy to have a choice - left, right or centre - could get a trailer in anywhere with that set up :giggle:

No but I've toyed with 2in receiver hitch then you can chuck anything on ...winch etc
had a 'ladder' on the centre one ... and a selection of carriers - ball, jaw, Nato, old style Rice 2" pin, and a winch mount .... ladder on the back too and a couple of small dinse sockets, front and back -- sorted ;):)
still got a Rice receiver somewhere and IIRC have a ball adaptor for it too ... were awkward sods to couple up to but once on they weren't coming off

I have just searched the net for a pic. of an old Rice and drawn a complete blank ... I'll get a pic of my receiver - pretty fair idea where it is -- were bomb proof coupling, but as said awkward bugger to get on

well that took a bit of rooting out .... had a pile of couplings on top of it

even with the full name and model number I still can't find a pic
this is roughly how it works 👇👇👇 but on a bigger scale - the hinge was on the end of the slider instead of an eye or ball socket

like I said .. they were a bitch to line up, but'd never jump off .... you did need a good jockey wheel to get 'em on/off though .. this 'un's got the ball adaptor instead of the big hinge connecting it to the slider --
anyone else old enough to remember them
