The VW is the same van as MAN isn't it but you get to deal with toffs who like to make you pay for the badge.
Although were VW and ford not in a tie up with their vans?

Crafter and TGE same vans, only difference is the grille/badges and seat cloth pattern. Interior/dash has recently been facelifted, now have big touch screen for lots of the controls, and an electric handbrake on the dashboard. MAN will service vehicles overnight at some dealers, VW normal working hours. Identical parts can vary which is the cheaper supplier, but they won’t cross-reference the other brand from reg/chassis number!

So it's been in the local garage and they say they can't diagnose it but the turbo probably gone going by the play in the shaft and possibly the DPF probably choked. Probably looking at another £4k repair bill but can't confirm there's not more wrong with it 😞
My only advice for people is don't consider buying Ford

There's 5 ford garages within 100 miles of us who do commercial vehicles, We've been to every one of them and left with disappointment each time.
Most independent garages won't touch ford engines.
We are very lucky. Our guys loves Ford’s and loves working weekends. Also our adjoining unit is a garage who also loves Fords. Any vehicle is only as good as its support network. I hope the MAN works well for you.

Went to a van place today, plenty of tge/crafters lined up ready for camper conversions. One they’re currently on with is 110k! I was only there picking up some wheels and tyres for summer use to save running all-seasons all year.
