I think it’s more of case of the gap narrowing between the custom and the transporter. The custom was built to compete with the Transporter and has been very successful in doing so. I know many die hard VW owners that have converted.

Can't really argue with that
Every flash plumber round here has a blinged up custom with every iteration of gas in the plate....

Still prefer my old MK7 at the end of the day .

I was told that vw sold the transporter to ford ? In hope the buzz would take it's place ?

What's this year's choice. Looking to replace the transit 350 L2H2 185. So far getting prices on:
Man TGE 180
Renault Master
Maxus Deliver 9 lux

What else should I be looking at.
Have lost faith in ford 😡

I seem to recall the red man tge 160 has the 7t train weight as standard. I think the 180 is less.
I've had quotes from man and the spec you get as standard is alot better than ford.
If you want the french vans then the Toyota proace max is a rebadged vauxhall/fiat/citeron but where doing the best deals and has 10yr warranty.

I think the sprinter would be ok but to get a decent one not the standard white hire bus it's big bucks.
TBH I'm leaning towards MAN ATM last one we bought was a MAN dropside and I like it. It'll be my chariot and in use daily. And there's a MAN service centre in Elgin, and Renault trucks hence my Oldman is getting a cost for the Renault Master. I'm not overly keen yet.
The VW is the same van as MAN isn't it but you get to deal with toffs who like to make you pay for the badge.
Although were VW and ford not in a tie up with their vans?

We have one . 2 years in and so far entirely fault free. It does like to ask for its oil to be changed every 8000 miles though. I don’t LIKE it but it’s entirely adequate and much nicer than the master/NV400/old Movano option.

I think Mercedes are having some problems shifting stock especially electric. We got quotes for some, and they where 20k more to build than to buy from stock. Yet second hand values where really strong.

I specced a basically the van below to be built and it was near 60k. 20k difference for pre registered felt insulting. Even bigger difference on the electric sprinter
They where also far too expensive for a Renault kangaroo with a pretty badge.

Man we had was faultless 4 years and 130k
With the isri seat I'd say they are the best out there to drive.
Only reason we didn't get another is no dealer near it's base.
Sprinter replace has been ok but driver doesn't like it as much but dealer handier.
