Take a look at the service costs of a Maxus before you pull the trigger. Buying it isn’t the expensive bitJust had a test drive of the Maxus, I was a bit apprehensive about them, there's no doubt not as well built as a transit and the tyres are 215 as apposed to the 235 on my transit but it's almost a clone of the transit van, looking at them side by side you'd even think the bonnet from the transit would fit the Maxus. Not quite as refined as the transit by any means but almost £20K saving in purchase is it worth a punt?
We don't do massive miles and the vans sit about most of the time but still need them to get to the job. But will it be any good in 5 years time
Do many have that anymore?I’d love one but they just don’t tow enough . I’m always looking for 7t max train weight
Yes . The TGE180 RWD is 7t gross train weightDo many have that anymore?
I wish they would do the 4 motion with 3.5T tow, Hate rear wheel drive vans unless have decent weight in back.
We will go for a year or so older with about 50k.. will be end of warranty then so no need to get involved with Ford at all…We're thinking it's a better option going for a 2 year old 12/15K mile transit for our needs.
Just despise our local Ford stealers![]()
Do you have any independent ford dealers. There is a great one here that i bought from. I get him to do the servicing and stuff too...We're thinking it's a better option going for a 2 year old 12/15K mile transit for our needs.

used to have one in Aber -- 'til Ford wanted them to spend a small fortune on their showrooms and workshops ... that was the end of their long 'relationship'Do you have any independent ford dealers. There is a great one here that i bought from. I get him to do the servicing and stuff too...
Looking at the configurator there is still an awd model but no 3.5t towing option prices are eye watering tooCan you still get a 4x4 sprinter? someone said they had stopped
But yes you could spec a 4x4 with uprated 7t train weight
Infact I just checked directly on dealer website and it says towing capacity is 2800kg… so the rep is talking nonsense as usual!I’m considering this, checked with dealer and apparently it’s the 3500kg towing spec one.
