Didn't they upgrade the allowed vehicle weight, but unsure if that allowed bigger mam
I think they did increase the amount this year to 4.25t for ev but the e terron is still 3500kg mam so is a bit pathetic payload wise as it's only 620kg before you get it in or add a canopy. There is meant to be a utility version but no details except will have just over a 1t payload.

It was June when the change was made but don't think there is any motors at this mam yet

On paper the warranty is good 5 year 160k km whole vehicle and something like 8 year 200k km on the battery although there is every chance they won't be in the country or actual hold up on what they say

To be fair not got the money to change and was just browsing out of interest, although I think with no commercial version the vat wouldn't be claimable and on top of that not allowable to claim under aia

The seating position is higher than a transit, the wheelbase is longer than the old transit which means the turning circle is a good bit more.
The cabin is good, you can feel the quality in it.

I think we've decided it's going to be a 12tonner 😉

Only funning 😬 it's a 3.5T truck but not sure on the towing capacity, it wasn't a concern for us but I'll check inside the door next time I take her for a spin.
In fact I'm heading to glenord maltings with it next week to see how our peat burner is going.
Give me a shout when you’re up if you’ve time for a coffee , I’m in Culbokie now but working in Inverness if you’ve time for a brew .

Last of the class 4 vans went today. 196k and still on original clutch I believe. We bought it ex lease and it’s cost £1.18 per day in devaluation over the last 10 years. Also works out at 0.05p per mile.
Haven’t worked out maintenance and fuel though 🫣

My brother’s just driven a hired new transit custom to spain and back to pick up some roof tiles. Didnt give it a glowing review, it was hired so not high spec.
Would it not have been massively cheaper to put them on a couple of pallets? He can’t have put 2 pallets in a custom even if massively taking the piss.

It was only about 40 roof tiles and 16 rolls of some horrible flashing. Earliest we could get them delivered was 4-6weeks, the politics of the job we’re still stuck on this was decided to drive and get them. He did it in 2 and a half days to be fair to him, was pretty nakerd when he got back though.

He did take a mate and they did shift driving, think they only stopped in one hotel they missed check in at one on way back so decided to plough on

I have done some mental shifts on the ski holidays. I think 990 miles was the longest with only toilet, fuel stops and ferry. I think it was leave Austria at 8am and back home 3am. The tunnel has reduced the time taken, but I am not a fan of the Dover to Gloucester stint when it is dark and raining late at night. Perhaps I am just getting old!!

The worst part of any drive back across Europe is once you get back into the UK - it feels like a dirty, crumbling shithole after French autoroutes!
