Welsh mud to a tee ... inch taller, every pace you take up here, when it's proper claggy ...... and the mowers stay in the shedAussie mud will stick to the bottom of your boots, every step another layer until your walking about a foot off the ground
You try to get if off but it sticks like sh!t to a blanket
However if you get into a machine or car it will immediately fall off your boots and spread itself around the floor of the aforementioned vehicle
perched on top of that is not my idea of funIt's 4 wheel drive Druid. All the weight is on 4 widely spread driven wheels, virtually none on the deck castors. The weight is also low down giving a very low centre of gravity compared to the Dane. It would comfortably mow greasy wet grass on side slopes much steeper than your lawns on low pressure turf tyres.
We've Had over 1.2m of rain in the last 3 months and you sink into the ground with your boots. This mower glides across such wet ground with ease not even leaving wheel tracks
I've only got it stuck when I've bottomed the mower chassis in a bog hole and even then putting a few rocks behind a wheel enabled me just drive it back out. I've yet to find a slope it won't drive up. I run the roll bar folded down for better access under trees and because it never shows the slightest inclination to roll over.
... makes for a very high CoG for the pilot ... the Surfer's circa 10" CoG ... could've bought a dozen ride on Danes, in the time I searched for the Surfer ... simply step off the back if you're in/heading for the tish ...I'll stick with it, ta
It is a mulching deck on there too Dave, but nothing's going to mulch 8-10" of green shite
..... 's why we had such a clear up op. most grass I've ever had off there ... usually have cut it in early March and has been growing like buggery all winter Forgot to measure the various angles, sorry ... been busy on a lil' fettling job ... will get 'em tomorrow.

That 'black soil' has to be experienced to be believed.Aussie mud will stick to the bottom of your boots, every step another layer until your walking about a foot off the ground
The Oz army cut the mud guards out of their land rovers so you had a chance to dig out the wheel arches when they'd clogged up. They pack so tight with with this stuff the wheels won't go around.

so .. bit warmer today in spite of the N Easterly we've had blowing all day ... been trying to get this little number done for ages and need to use them shortly ... got a lot to lop ....
dragged 2/3 rds of a length of 60.3 x 5 CHS out from under a box and cut a couple of bits off it ... Got to say Mr Aldi's little 5" battery grinder gets used a lot more than I imagined it would and is a great little thing for this sort of thing ...
Wound up the genny, woke up the Harrison and stuck a piece in for some attention ....
opened it up a bit for some of these
four ends later and ...
had a pair of these
living under the box had left this lot looking a tad s/hand .. got the worst off with some tape .... old belt grinder belts cut/tear up into great strips for this sort of thing ... never used to chuck 'em out unless they were 'bald' ... always got used up, but still have quite a few to use up yet ... started life as 60 grit and have them in varying states of 'grit'
lopped a few axle bits .... after letting Mr Harrison clean up a bit of 20mm ...
and tapped 'em into situ
drilled some ears and lopped them up with a few other bits too ...
ready for some assembling ... belt grinder is such a great tool for shaping stuff up... time for some hot stick ... too bloody breezy for the MIG -- AGAIN
have you guessed what I'm at yet .....
and on to the next one
having had to re-purpose the gert flywheel that used to sit under this one, I needed a new base set up ....
worked out alright ... did consider some pad feet on the legs, bt think it sits firmer in the planings, without
and now I'm out of pix-- What's the chance of upping me limit again please Ross ( @Regy53 ) gonna have to go again .......

have tried to buy a couple of those from Brightwells over the last couple of years, but when you inquire they've usually got faults or no remotes ... and they ain't a cheap replacement .. 'specially when they usually make a couple of grand a throw ... would be nice to find a complete functional one, one dayPfff, you're living in the dark ages

got a lot of stuff to lop up shortly for a couple of jobs for the BIL and without the rollers it is bloody hard work dealing with 25ft lengths of SHS/RHS.... I usually make the ears on these taller to stop stuff exiting off the sides of the rollers, but decided to keep these below the roller height/surface, so I can use them for ply sheets, etc., on the bench, as they're taller than usual too, to reach the bench heights
you know what's coming next ... after I'd had me tea
couple of coats of shiny sh1t ... keep the red stuff at bay

About £500 I think.
