That’s what I would call an ordinary 5 pin relay. The one with two 87’s is on the diagrams that Gecko posted, and is an unusual one I think.

right
just been out to the truck (as the rain has stopped for this year) put the relays back in
pulled the boom light wiring conduit back a bit because as V8druid said it was really tight around the king post ( flat in fact) i also disconnected the top cab beacon socket wires , which were also very corroded, pulled all the fuses and placed them back in one at a time (except the 2 15A accessory fuses) and she fired up again.
I tried to squeeze and pull the wires to the boom light but couldnt make it blow but then i am sure the machine can put a lot more strain on it than i can.
So i will try again and see how it goes and if it happens again i will try looking in this area.
I looked under the cab and i can see where the boom light plugs into the loom so when i get a chance i will unplug it completely.
I am not sure this is the end but i want to thank everyone who contributed and was very patient with me, its been a real learning curve and i feel i know a lot more about my digger than i did a week ago.
If any of you are ever down in the south of France or on your way through to Spain please stop and let me buy you a cold beer or two.

Bingo - we have a winner!
It's the box that makes the really irritating noise.
I've put a loop of tape on mine so I can pull it out easily

I've used that style when adding relays into headlight circuits.
(first time was a 2A 109)
The two output pins is convenient for running a separate wire to each headlight.

Am not 100% it is sorted yet but i am hopeful that it is that cable, although it still seems strange that the fuses for the lights do not blow when the 40A one does, but hey what do i know lolGreat stuff, we’ve booked a coach to Spain next week

Just a thought- someone mentioned a Lucas ignition earlier. I once had an ignition on my forklift that started blowing the fuse as you turned it (between positions). Might be worth eliminating this.

SPDT ....... 30 supplies to 87a (NC) or 87 (NO) .... or vice versa ... can't recall which way round, but 'flip flop'

yep, have had that on a crane .... took a while to work out it was actually the switch 'cross talking' across its contacts

am only laying type one down my drive temporarily until the other work is completed

... does it get wet in the winter or is it a convenient place to lose lots of spoil ... been busy there boyo snap .. almost ........ think I prefer your backdrop

Thanks. It's a large drop away and becomes a ravine for the rain water off the mountains behind nut yes I did loose a lot of spoil down there. LolVery nice Deano .... hell of a gully beside the pool

Just a little update. I went out to the digger yesterday after a week or so , turned the key and all fine. Then after about 3 minutes it just cut out and blew the fuse again
For sum reason I went to under the pull up arm and decided to look at the not used accessory plugs , I decided to pull them through from under the arm and into the little lockable tool box in the side. And look at what I found ? Hopefully this is the cause and end of the problems.
