That is what i suspect as well. we tried tracing the wire yesterday but it showed on multiple connections on the relay.

From battery live it looks like it feeds the starter main, back to ignition switch, 40 amps would be a larger circuit ie starting, charging, heat, light circuit, servo solenoids!

i think i have worked out the fuse wires that are blowing.
no. 2 is servo control and instruments 40A (although my diagram shows a 60Amp fuse
no.3 says wipers 15A (but i have an open cab and no wipers so i dont know whats on that)
I tried getting the little switch that isolates the hydraulics out and disconnected that as i thought maybe with exposure to the rain it rusted and although it looked dirty when i tried it still blew the 2 fuses.
although when i disconnected all the instrument panel plugs only the 40a blew and not the !5a.
Do you think it could be one of the relays ?
I do not know how to test relays but i do have a meter

yet on that diagram it shows the servo one as only 5A and that is the one popping with 40A in it and the one next to it with 15A is wipers which i dont have
But it is definitely one of those two wires as the main live on the back feeds those two that pop and the 3 one that looks like a fan but that fuse is fine.
The two wires that go to the blowing fuse are numbered 101 and 107

You fuse log doesn’t show a 40 amp fuse it has 2 x 60amp

It seems that table 33 and figure 129 have different fuse ratings, but one says all machines!

The little switch should be only an earth that would excite a relay that in turn would feed the pilot solenoid, (relays) if they are 4 pin, you will have a fused live feed, a switched live, or a switched earth, the fourth wire will be the supply to the item!

I know but there are no spaces for a large 60Amp fuse as they only come in MAXI size so i dont know where those two are

my little fuse board only has 8 working spaces , the other two have no connections so fig 129 is closer

do it as well as you can,but learn to do it better
disconnected electrically presumably or just the fuel lines?

i am trying to trace back the 2 little wires from those positions that are blowing the fuses but as i said i cant find them on my wiring diagram . yellow 101 and 117

Instead of wasting loads of fuses wire a bulb across the fuse terminals. Bulb will light whilst there is a short to earth and go out when you disconnect the source of the short. Disconnect anything passing through that fuse one at a time to eliminate. If nothing extinguishes the light it’s time for a wiggle test on all areas of wiring harness you can get to. Possible wire shorted to earth.
