Yes I have a compressor and will give it a blow out when I manage to lift the cab but it's on a slope. I am just outside Perpignan in a little village I. The pyrenees on the french/spanish border

yes know Perpignan area ...... have run the whole coast road a few times on my Kawi 1000 from Menton down to Argeles and vice versa, many years ago ... great siccle country ... would be down there somewhere now, if it wasn't for Mr Gaucher

Take pedals off - and some bolts with Alan keys heads holding an ally plate down,(ally plate stays I think but needs to be loose to allow canopy to lift) then undo big nuts holding canopy down front and back iirc and it tilts up ... there is a gas strut.
Might have to take tracking leavers off too.
I still have the rail off mine .... mini went a year or 2 ago , it never needed any heat anyhow so it never got sorted.
Still a bitch to get at after all that I think.

Disconnect the wire to the heater plug rail, tape it up if necessary, see if the fuse pops then?

Right a quick update. today with the help of my friend , we managed to tilt the cab.
First we disconnected the wire from the glow plug bus bar , tried the key and it blew the 40A fuse again so no change there.
secondly we disconnected the main thick red wire to the starter solenoid and tried the key and again the fuse blew.
Now am totally out of ideas.
I will say that the new fuse blows at key position 1, you hear a quick start of the fuel pump click before you hear the fuse pop still in position 1
any ideas on this please maybe try something with the fuel pump if i can find it ?

seems to point to the pump - initially ..... have you isolated it electrically yet? ... not a dear item to replace

Still not sure how relevant my manual is, but here is something to try.
[first - take a pic of the fuse box showing the fuses in their positions so you can put them back]
Remove fuses 1 to 6
Turn the key to position 1 and see if the 40A fuse blows.
If the 40A fuse doesn't blow, replace fuses one at a time and see what happens.

OK latest update on the fun and games.
today i disconnected the top little fuel pump and the tank fuel lifter.
Turned the key to position one again and...............blew the 40A fuse yet again. i am really out of ideas now !!!!

Have you located the glow plug relay yet? Assuming it’s got one and it’s not directly ignition fed?

Hi have found the relays under the ignition control panel but i tried yesterday with the glow plug bus bar disconnected and it still blew so could it still be the relay ?

My gut feeling is you’ve got a wire rubbed through and shorting to earth somewhere. But you first need to rule out all components that could also mimic this fault.
Have you traced the feed wire to the glow plugs back to a relay?
