Yes I had an old Volvo F6 with a large heater in the inlet - started first time every timeproperly set up and fully functional it'd be my preference .... can't beat a lungful of flame down the inlet on a cold morning ... really kicks 'em in the guts
had a York 6 pot in an old RR and that had three heaters in the manifold ..... used to leap into life and they were known as bad cold starters
healthy batteries and starter also play a big role
