I got a price for 12m of 4" sch10 stainless steel pipe on Tuesday was approx £38/M customer agreed price on job to go ahead on Wednesday late afternoon, I called on Thursday morning and the cost was £46/M 😳

Aluminium sheet steel, one supplier we use quite a bit can't get any until late Feb - early March 🤔

Wow some fair prices for pipe there!
I buy it by the 400m pallet and it works out at 8€ each 4m length of 100mm diameter solid pipe with socket (its recycled and seems good quality)- the french are on 100mm as opposed to 110mm and all our fittings are glued - the osma style with seals has just started to be offered here ,years ago I used to moan to suppliers about the glued stuff and ask them to get it osma with seals as they already sold osma products 🤷 anyhow its finally arrived but the price is savage and I'm used to the glued stuff now.

Have used these for fittings and pipe at my house, luck of the draw what brand pipe you get supplied (mine was Brett Martin iirc)

Having been to places to dig in and find pipes/fittings which have failed I try to stay clear of unbranded or online specials if poss personally. Having said that couple of suppliers round here are keen enough with prices that there isn't a huge saving online if at all (and in any case its passed on to customer).

I’ve always been wary of unbranded pipe as well. It’s not like it’s an easy job to change if it fails.

Have you guys used plastics-express? I’ve had a few orders off them over the last couple of years and the stuff has been good value. The bank payments look strange (plasticsexpress reads funny if you don’t know what it is!) and there were a couple of bits missing from the odd order but they turned up when chased. Only selling 3m lengths of 110mm but the prices aren’t too bad. View attachment 29482
Plastics express are local to me, no idea what delivery times are like now but first time we used them the delivery was next day but we were short of couplers which was when we realised they were local and have collected since then. Their trade counter is a pain in the behind, as anything out of the ordinary is in a different building a good 10 min plus drive away from the counter.
They do have a decent range of fittings though and cover a range of above and below ground drainage.
I did use sky plastics last time for soakaway crates but was a nightmare, the "next day delivery" was closer to a week and even then one of the crates was missing

They screwed me over once with underground ducting which wasn’t to UK spec, sold as if it was!
1k of wasted ducting and about a weeks worth of extra digging due to them selling knock off duct! Then site plans having to be redrawn as I refused to dig up 200meter of road which the original was buried under! Complete mess! I stick to the fully branded stuff now!

I have used JDP for years on a credit account sometimes it's decent sometimes the pipes warped a 45" bend doesn't fit inside a inspection chamber quite right like Polypipe would

Have got a cash account with bradfords as don't like having accounts everywhere so where do you buy your stuff Danny? JDP okay will get you set up on the system for drainage ( Polypipe ) over 60% discount on list price!!

Taking the mick imo. Only one quarry said owt about it round here so far and they reckon type 1 + 70p per ton.
Yes think that's a bit ott...but then again what do they run their kit on?

To be fair mind when you take haulage agg tax and all the other add ons off they reckon type1 starts off about £2.50 a ton so 70p is a fair jump.
