time for a couple of hardboard sheets, 'fore it gets tarped down

rest of the trailer's contents ....

......ended up in a couple of breathable/vented dumpies .... with a little help, holding the bags .....

Charlie got a new carb installed this evening, after tea, when our Hermes fella made a late delivery and pleased to report he sounds in fine fettle after a few tweaks ..... will hopefully get the rest of the lumps sized down tomorrow and blocked up .... lil' Jake can hold a few more bags for me ... he handles them pretty well full, too

Yes indeed just tried to get a few but there on the boat and all that. No doubt with another price increase nearer the time ( hope not )

I think I'd just stick it into one of the drema's buckets and dispose of it like that if you don't want to fire it up drag a empty bucket over and fill it for disposal later

now why didn't I think of that

gonna have to fire her up tomorrow for the last lump of wood ...... too bloody big to man handle over, to lop up ....... get that done and I can drop the VA-r off and grab a bucket ... either that or grab one with the Cranab and sit it for later, or stick me 50mm adaptor pins into me favourite 3ft Geith and pick it with the VA-r's quicky

got the rest of it lopped and split today ... ran out of time and energy for that lump and was a bit late in the day to fire up the 'Drema for just one lump. Me an' Charlie'd had enough

I love losing the big nasty lumps-of-woe to people keen to fill their log-stores themselves. Getting a drink out of it is the icing on the cake too - I bet your tree surgeon mate was made up tbh!

if he 'sneaks' any more like that in he'll be taking the bloody lot back/won't be coming off ..... taking the piss quite frankly ... he knew I wasn't there and Pam'd know no better ...... that last 'un is gonna take some sizing down with what I have available, Charlie-wise ..... don't mind how big the rings are, as long as they ain't bigger than 12" to go on the table - gnarly doesn't bother me, or the splitter, but ........ that lump's gotta be going 180-200+ kgs... the four pieces of the one I quartered today were a good 50kgs each, getting them onto the table.
I usually get stick off him, straight from jobs, but he's been clearing his yard out ..... so 's all bloody dry and the good stuff splits very easily
I might bell him in the morning and ask him to bring one of his big saws up to halve the damned thing - easy enough gripped in the Cranab at whatever angle is required, with a suitable weapon

well I did for that last piece earlier .... bloody thing ... managed to flip it and quartered it on the deck

then Clara arrived and that was as far as i got 'til after tea

having stacked most of it in the one I realised I wasn't gonna get the straps on the bag lifter, so had to have a juggle

don't think lil Jake's gonna cope with those two now
Pam had the pressure washer out this morning ...... amazing how much tish settle out the air

and I ended up with the fiddly bit, between Clara departing and tea time

concrete was black and had a bucketful of muck off it, apart from what got washed off .... incredible where it comes from

had started to drizzle when I came in after splitting the final lumps .... little bit of damp really shows the difference ......

doesn't remove all the tish though @fred ...... had several bucketfuls of silt/sand/tish off it, shovelled up once pushed into a line/heap ..... incredible where it all comes from ... a lot off vehicle wheels, but the stuff in the more 'obscure' spots must come down with the rain
Plus that stuff'll knacker the lawn, when it runs off onto it and doubt it's very kind to cat paws either and Pam likes doing it ... she started on it 'cos it'd become slippery when wet .... quite satisfying seeing it come up

How is it with moss/mould? On side of my hoose gets no sun and the wall is dark with grime or mould, I've always thought I could spray something on to try clean it up a bit

no it doesnt your thinking of brick acid?, rain is never far away. Allways use neat for first dose then can water it down for next treatment.

anything organic it kills and removes, try a test patch.

Well I'll agree and disagree with you here. Most chemicals/ detergents will damage concrete and many other surfaces if used strong enough as will a decent pressure washer if you concentrate it on one place too much. The ideal is a bit of both, use hypo or similar first and rinse off with pressure washer or better still steam cleaner.

Its just stronger bleach. I bought 50l last year. Think it was about £15 for 25l. Same as swimming pool chemical. When mixing for patio cleaning you put some liquid soap in too

my Andrews steam cleaner in work would take the dye out of the brickwork bund around the fuel tanks getting the bloody moss off it .... did a hell of a job of getting the yard clean though. one pass was enough
