Always had white in bulk tank and red as well in yard it was the lorry fuel caps that got damaged and fuel nicked tanks never got touched

I was speaking to a hire place earlier saying its going to be a pain for them, farmer hires a machine, siphons the white out 
refill it with red and could quite legitimately use red in it, return it, for them to clean it out and refill with white for the next hire.

Or just change from all machines being hired out full to being hired out empty and any remains left in the tank get sucked out each time and magically disappear to help the Christmas party cause

How much land do you need to be farm And still buy red? Or is it just holding number etc? We recently sold 4 acres taking us down to 12 at yard and think we’ve lost our holding number but mrs has 15 acres in Hereford rented out for grazing. Might try get us a holding number

small holding can be as little as half an acre I believe .... don't think there are any hard and fast rules .... also recently saw 1/2Ha mentioned in a recent planning doc. I was reading, re. PD for for ag. buildings

Small holding isn't the same as agri when it comes to buildings etc. I'm sure with planning etc for ag you need 5 hectares and then i think to prove a need so you'd need to have some sheep or livestock already. I've heard of a few people who have either claimed to have been renting land to get the area up or to have been helping local farmer at weekends and so have a share in 20 sheep.
