Could you build the new shed over the top of the boxes? Then empty them and drag them out afterwards? Surely the reality is that those boxes will become a permanent feature? I know you will want most of the stuff in the new workshop, but think of all that useful space there will then be inside those boxes!

regrettably James ... the one corner is right where a corner post'd need to be ..... plus until yon building'd be finished, secure and watertight, the contents'd need to stay put.

Empty, the 'Drema should be able to handle them too ...pick and place, all be it slowly/carefully ... they'm 3.5t each .... a 'Drema an' a Mec'd chuck 'em about/pick and carry 'em, no probs

done a fair bit of M/c installation / movement meself ..... this was an interesting one ... put 4 of these into a local place we did a lot for .. 17t each

60 tonner for offing 'em and laying 'em over .... and for offing 28t of Rhodes C frame press

had to lay 'em over to get 'em into the building and through their stores - only way in big enough ..... once they'd cleared us a route

stand 'em back up, Hysters as 'jacks and the Rapier as a catcher then lift 'em onto skates ....


got a bit crowded once we'd got 'em all in

then position 'em in their working spots ..... twere a tad on the tight side

and little room for maneuvering

this Rhodes was a different mother and a real handful at 28t .... in on its back as well ... took some up-righting in the right spot

but we got 'em all in there though

and moved about a dozen other Hare C frames about and reconfigured their production line in a weekend ... shift running at 07.00 on the Monday morning ...... We knew most of their presses by their first names .... very often reconfigured their press lines over a weekend .... sometimes moving 20 odd presses about .... was easier and cheaper to have us in to move presses, than change all their tooling about .... we got bloody good at it

That's a fact ..... took me years to get my workshop laid out exactly right ..... and still ended up moving the odd machine, if we wanted more space for summat big
got a couple of decent towers for overhead working Mark .... but yeh - may well have been a help, but still a bit low without stepladders off 'em

where they're sat was the only place I had prepped for them, at the time and had a sneaky feeling they'd be on the move at some point

We have a particular product up in this neck of the woods that sells well all over the globe, it appears to make everyone merry to . Trouble is after it’s made it needs to be kept in a nice oak cask for anything from 3 years and up. This machine we are moving about is used to drive the hoops onto the casks and gets them nice and tight for years of leak free storage. It’s a barrel hardener.

I love the robots. Just looks so incongruous the mixture of futuristic tech and barrel technology from centuries ago.

thought it was gonna be a 'net-less Crimbo for me this morning ... turned old faithful off last night and unplugged it to clear the RAM ..... did not wanna turn on / reboot this morning
dismantled it from it's hidey hole under me desk .... de-paneled it ... gave it some compressed air - outside I may add, having hoovered the house this morning ...... and having had a damned good look at its onny/offy thingy, decided that was the fault.
So left the front fascia off, so's I can get at said button directly .....
gave the Dyson its monthly blast out, whilst I had the compressor full of air, then re-installed the ol' girl in spot, beside me leg ..... powered up and pressed go .... hey presto I'm back ..... anxious moment though ....
dread doing the upgrade thingy, as a lot of you will already know

Had an appointment with openreach on Friday. Had to stay in from 8am to 1pm. Needless to say they didn’t show. When I contacted plusnet to find out what was happening they got hold of openreach whilst I was on the line and were told the appointment had been cancelled that morning. I guess the BT guy decided to start Christmas early. They don’t give a s**t and although plusnet were very apologetic openreach won’t come out until after Christmas.

BT are a bunch of w**kers ..... with SSE for 'net now .... two quid a month .... but still nineteen line rental ......
still less than half of what BT's miserable service cost though .....
Openreach engineers'll tell you straight .... priority of service goes to everyone except BT's own BB customers ..... can wait two weeks plus, for them to do anything for you with BT.
Neighbour, below us, was off for three an' a half months, start of this year .... but that could well have been down to his bloody attitude

Openreach have a different service contract with other providers as they don’t allow other engineers to work on the network. We are fortunate that my wife works from home and the landline and broadband are covered as a business line which means they have to provide an engineer in 4 hours.

yeh all my lines in work were a max 4 hr response to faults .... and had my own four pairs running direct to exchange in town a few hundred yards away, so rarely had a fault
Had considered setting my home line up as a biz line, just for the 4 hr response .... wouldn't have been a huge amount more per month and well worth it TBH, if only to make them jump
One of my biggest gripes, aside from their abysmal service was the lack of UK contact .... Guhpta in Mumbai was not who i wanted to talk to with a problem, usually that I could see, on the side of the road here, after a 'Giles' had hacked the line to bits with a flail, cutting the hedges.

Once I'd told 'em I was 'off' to SSE I got inundated with calls from UK based op.s/sales people, wanting to know why? .... "Simples ... you're crap and have had a myriad of opportunities to improve - totally fed up up with non existent service and exorbitant charges - - Bye!! "

OK, still on the same lines, but half the cost and SSE get a priority of service from Openreach

many years ago the leccy co.s were talking about using the power transmission lines for distributing BB ..... never happened unfortunately

On the subject of moving the containers, been meaning to make a pair of the below for a while now, saw them on ebay from a company in Aus but postage was ridiculous. just clip them on and move the container like a trailer!
