Yes. Just looked through his thread. Should have looked at his thread first.
Anyone know the cost of a new kobota kx 2.6t.
The yanmar is £24.500 with a whites hitch and buckets 😁

Anybody have thoughts on these
Yeah I had one on hire for a while- quite a nice machine to be fair- you get a nice spec for not silly money. 2 things that I didn’t like was the offset boom only offsets to the right at a 45 degree angle, as opposed to 80 odd like most other machines. It’s a pain when ditching for example if you want to work the bucket close to the cab for better view etc. Also the Whites hitch is poo, severely retards the geometry of the bucket curl- it was so bad I struggle to keep material in the bucket when trying to loading into a 3 ton dumper.
However other than that I found it a pretty decent machine, powerful, smooth- but not as smooth as a Tak, track pedals were nice to use, and ground clearance is good, also the blade has a lot of articulation so good for levelling your self on slopes etc, thumb rollers for aux and offset boom as standard. I’d be happy to own one, but that offset is the one thing that puts me off it.

How heavy is a rated 3.5t trailer. Are they about 800kgs?

I'm sure my tt105 is 920kgs but can't remember if it with or without the mesh sides.

My mates just had a tb230 brand new, got the last one from the dealers, next ones land in July!!! I did explain it’s well over weight for towing behind his pickup, but no f&&&@‘s given! 🤦‍♂️ Seems happy with him self.
Do you know what he paid for it ?

The TB230 weighs 2950kg with fuel and a bucket. The lightest trailer to take it is Indespension's Alumax with a payload of 2910kg. So unless you empty the fuel from it every time you move it and make it immaculately clean - you are overweight! But we all knew that... shame because its a nice machine.
Overhaul the towing laws - or the smaller end of the lorry sector. Either way, something has to give, especially with the increased popularity of the 2.7t class. Towed by inexperienced drivers - its a dangerous combination. Mine has tried to have me a couple of times and you realise having more weight behind you than what you are driving is not a good combination.

What makes the 230 too heavy is the "uk spec" which all taks come into the country with. Its max counterweight and longest dipper. Elsewhere it's available with a shorter dipper and less weight but all uk spec takis get longest dipper and heaviest counterweight as standard. Tbh they'd probably not sell many without said spec.
