Made few of these a few years back. Handy on the truck.

some one, either on here, or the CEF, made up a roof/glass mounted unit on a glass lifter, suction handle ... looked tidy and i made one up ... don't think I have any pix of it .. puts out some serious 'lumens'

Yeah been so handy i should get round to making mk2. Haven't used an inspection lamp since i made it.

They're good but double the cost and half the lumens and about 10 year too late for me.

Not a right lot to tell tbh only came Thursday. Debated 2 piece boom last time and decided this time to go for it time will tell but a lot better for close in work and lifting. Wouldn't have changed at 2 year old but didn't click with 290 demo'd 290-2 and way different machine so decided to change while mine was still worth decent money.

Well it's difficult to be too impartial when I've only v limited if at all experience of other makes. But if it proves better than a take 175 it'll do me. That was the main thing about the 290 it just didn't live up to the predecessor

I`m not overly familiar with the larger takeuchi models, so is that a new original 290 model just with the two piece boom and not the 290-2?

That's been the plan for 2 years now but every time i start putting a bit of money to one side for a tilty something else gets bought instead. It doesn't help that i want to tilty the 9 ton and 4 ton fairly close together if not even at the same time.
