Those photos are a wicked neat job fair play.

I always try to put ducts and drainage in at the start now. I've usually registered a site with western power and they let you go to the stores and pick up some duct, water and gas just put your own duct in, Had some bt duct knocking around for this last job but thats only shallow anyway so could be done by hand at the end

That is such a neat job people must love working on sites you have set up rather than wading around in s**t as most sites seem to be.
Can't stand wading it s**t myself which i know sounds a bit daft doing groundworks but even though you can't control weather and ground conditions you can control the amount of s**t ur wading about in by how you go about the job. Most of my work is for the same 8 or 10 builders keep them happy and i don't have to go out looking for work.

Tidy...up ENWL make you fit paving slab concrete roof to em? Mega fussy and red duct etc etc. Then charge a fortune to connect...then leave all the waste crap on our site!!
Well I guess it’s a concrete roof in some respects 😂
I had real problems with this job as SP energy gave me a duct spec which I adhered too, put in 200m of it(Then I built road over the top...!) , when they inspected it they said the duct didn’t have SP energy written on the duct so didn’t pass Inspection! Had to redig new duct down the side of the road, wasn’t happy!!

Enwl do allow use of a proper cabinet there was one on a job i did which they must have fitted as they disconnected the supply from a house which was demolished and rebuilt. Can be one rule for them and another for everyone else sometimes though.

I've knocked the meter box out of the existing house before and dragged it back to a ply box for power during the job 👍

ThAt idea was talked about, contractors who did the final install said they’d of been fine with it, More annoying Is we could of just dig the cable in with no duct and they’d be happy with that! 🙄

Better joints than the local wimpy site that! Building control would pull you up for lack of roof insulation though !!

like others said, western power are happy with recessed meter box screwed to a stake, has to be earthed though. Sometimes get lucky and screw then direct to the pole.
And if you are clever enough you put it where it has same amount cable as if it went to house so you can just move it later to location in house with out western power having to come out again incurring an extra charge to lengthen the cable or shorten it

These are the same folk that left our old 100a supply live with no meters and unsecured fuses for 4 years at our building...🤦🙄😉😉
Eventually they descended on us like the proverbial BT Van plague...upteen hiluxs and transits each with one guy in to disconnect it out if the blue..🤷

they loop it up by the temp box so there is enough. Jointing costs.

They have just started a new build down near my yard, what a f****ng mess o_O they are all tramping about in the slop, site is just a f**k up, havent battered back banks to entrance etc and its all dropping back in, heaps of soil everywhere not sealed off, nowhere to park vehicles out of shite or some hard standing to stack materials.

Paid the cheapest man to do the groundworks and then spend 6 months paddling about miserably in the s**t 🤷‍♂️

If hockey stick is fitted western power don't have to come back to disconnect and refit you just dig trench to final location and move it all over

thats ok if you like having a load of plastic shite running up the outside of the house. We put the stick in the cav, much cleaner job.

Are the power companies ok with that. Round here I always say the first thing the utilities boys do when they jump put of van is look for any possible reason why they can't do the job
