Just checked my Touareg. 6445kg train weight, and 2945kg for the jeep on it's own. Not sure what the Touareg is running around at without a trailer but il be sure to check next time I'm near a bridge.

My Transit Custom with empty 10x5 Ifor tipper sits at 3540kg. Train weight is only 5100kg, not hard to overload it.

You could put them on back seats if you want point is there not easy to load and unload like with pickup. Heavier vehicle to begin with though and don't carry a ton?

no back seats in a disco commercial, flat loadbed.

Im aware of that but to replace a pickup might need rear seats. My point was it's not easy to get a breaker for an 8 ton digger in there for example. Its like diesel wacker would always require trailer whereas with pickup it can be put in back.

don't know yet got to get summands and go and face the music don't think tham gona lock me up
did they actually tell you they would be "reporting it" ?? ... unusual for them to be so lenient that much over ... usually £X amount per kilo over, plus a hefty fine to boot.
And how hard did you get your as slapped??

Worrying too much.

Bang in a application for a restricted license in 12 weekly checks due to lack of milage. You will have to get a maintenance contract signed but a 7.5t tipper will change the way you work. And provided your within 100k from base your likely tacho exempt
secure off street parking is usually the big issue for restricted O license app. .. need space to park a decent sized truck and can't be domestic .

This is a very relevant and timely reminder for us guys towing with a pickup truck
Drag my mini around on a 3500kg Ifor behind a Navara....

This leaves loads of room for buckets, breaker and stuff to do the job.
Trailer weighs in at 985kg. Sometimes come close to the limit for the trailer
So the Navara comes in at with a kerbside weight of about 2135kg and a GTW of 6000kgs

This information is on the right hand A pillar
Doing the math, if I am towing 3500kg, it leaves me about no more than 365kgs in the Navara.
Remember, that's me, the apprentice, my lunch box and wallet :ROFLMAO:

Fortunately, I usually run up the road at well under 3000kg for the trailer.
Then in the Navara, I've usually got a few hand tools, CAT and Genny, Laser and string lines etc.
So at a guess the Navara is about 2500kg making me well under the GTW.
And that's the big thing guys, we all use experience and common sense.
Next time I'm out and out I'll pop it on a local weigh bridge
but do you still carry your 'Certificate of immunity' Dave?? ..... traffic weren't you ;):)

Companies like svtech van do the conversion, generally tends to be air assisted helpers on the rear axle and minor bits.

You can get a o license to 7.5t from a domestic property provided there are no objections from residents.

No, up to I think 7.5t can be on a domestic driveway provided the TC and local highways department deem it suitable, could even be 10t for that matter..

I know Owen Mays did similar, they stick a weight restriction on your O licence conditions.

Your allowed a 7.5t electric wagon without a O License too.
