No way is tool theft a significant issue in oz. A lot of trades use a box trailer behind a pick up or car. My first boss did over there. Just shows how low trust a society we are cant even transport tools round in a trailer because it would just be a pikey magnet.

Can't even leave cheap tools on the back of a tipper, a large amount of pickups have their spare wheels nicked let alone other kit.
Too many thieving scrotes over here with little to no worry of getting caught and even if they do the penalties are pathetic. Got back yesterday and looks like neighbour has been scammed by some of travellers who "bought" his van. Unless the money clears he has been done and foolishly let the vehicle go before funds fully cleared, put all his details in the banking app and it said transferred and he stupidly didn't check his own bank to check. It's a euros to UK transfer so he praying the money clears in a couple of days

I do think that regulations around weight limits should be relaxed, izuzu grafter in japan is a 5t gross weight vehicle, in the UK the vehicle is the same other than the transmission and smaller brake discs, and of course plated at 3.5T to conform to UK regs. It would be much safer if we had the japanese version over here as people will inevitability over load given the size of the pickup bed.

They'll need to do something as with the onslaught of elecshitification...payloads are going to tank otherwise. Bad enough now before you had for hundred kg of batts.
