Thing about playing with own money, learn fast,or get out, like any transaction, money's made in the 'buying',obviously it's easier to make profit if you can buy low,but also psychologically, when shares drop....lack of news, market makers 'raiding' stop loss to get shares cheap,it's always easier to hold on n resist following the herd when you're well in profit
Buffet said the stock markets a way to transfer wealth from the impatient to the patient',I used to trade like crazy on a day/ week basis, still do if I think the profits there BUT most money I make,or looking back have missed out on is by not holding onto a share
I deal on AIM cos I'm interested in capital growth, big swings, blue chip shares, dividends aren't my thing,at the moment it's going well, not life changing but IF I continue finding shares like these could be very good year, only concern what happens next with cgt?
I have a motto,'crumbs off the table',for instance, know of someone who made well north of £100k increase in share value today on AVCT,know he's not selling till firm gets taken over, makes my £2977 day gain on this share pale by comparison, but then I ain't got the £10+ million he has to play with investing for his family office,
Could all change but don't cry when I win,so same when I loose
