do it as well as you can,but learn to do it better
proper fitting C spanner with a decent handle and a good whack ought to shift it ... be better off having it still in position on the machine for rigidity though

Didnt have a c spanner - big stillsons and a bar did the job - had left machine on job and just taken the ram so had to make do with the vice to grip it, anyhow its off and seals replaced - nothing looked properly buggered but hope it was as if not may end up looking in valve block as has been discussed.
BTW ...... Would you like a heavy orange present from France Graham ?

happily have a go at it Kev .. but .. as you have a replacement to use, could we leave it 'til after mid June .. Update on little JCB ram - all back together and working - leveled 20t of stone this aft and all good
