Budget and red diesel restrictions

By all accounts that is insane!! Someone still has to process it and someone has to deliver it!!
Fill up now, going to be the same market breakdown as there was with gold,if it's not worth doing, either price will rise till it is,or supply chain going to suffer

Just to piss you lot off a local buying group for farmers (Anglian) quoted 10.9 for heating oil.dont know what they were quoting for red though

There is a glut of oil around the world and it’s cheaper to sell at a loss than shut the refineries down apparently.nearly pays to buy extra tanks and fill but don’t know how long this bio stuff keeps for

So my 1500 litres of Kerosene was delivered today. I was out on the bike taking 'daily exercise 😇
SWMBO obeyed dealt with the delivery and said that the tanker driver was a very nice man....
But he said that he shouldn't have put it in our old steel tank because it wasn't connected
IMG_1563.jpeg
Here's the old tank disconnected last year and the new plastic one now in use.
The tank is very sound with no rust. Gave a lick of black bitumen over the peeling paint to freshen it up.
IMG_1564.jpeg
Then did a very nice soldered pipe closure just in case little fingers turned the valve on
But he did put about 1200 litres in this tank with no problems. Will be transferred or connected when I am ready.
So my first question to my learned friends is - Was he correct to say that it should not go into an unconnected tank?

While there he also spotted my brand new barrels ready for the red diesel and asked what they were for.
SWMBO explained that for his red diesel for his digger and stuff
IMG_1512.jpeg
Here they are - 3 have been cleaned up, squirted with bug treatment and ratchet strapped to a euro pallet on the front drive ready for deliver tomorrow.
He then went on to say that his company won't let them delivery red diesel into barrels - WTF
So my second question to my learned friends is - is he correct to say that delivery of red diesel should not be made into 205 litre barrels

There you go - another 'can of worms' opened up on this thread :ROFLMAO:

It depends who you use we had one spot kick up a stink that they couldn't fill the diesel tank from ground level having used a ladder to fill it for years.

I bet you wish you had put 5 ft of pipe on it and stuck it into the floor now

I had 2000l of red and 2000l of kero delivered yesterday into a mix of IBCs, bunded fuel proof tank, 5x 200l drums and my heating oil tank. No issues, great driver (first time he’d been to us), happy days.

I use watsons and they have recently gone digital so they are being monitored by head office flow rates etc the drivers told me if you order 500L it should be a direct drop into a 500L tank not stop starting the pump for x2 205L drums and 5 cans...... Ive also heard of them charging £1 every time they fill up another bowser due to the stop start.

Ive had drivers refuse to fill up 20L drums as its against there 'policys' then other drivers not care and told not to tell anyone they've done it

I'd be telling them to get with the program or you'll be buying elsewhere .....

There running a business like anyone else, you might be the ideal customer with everything in place for when they arrive.

But Jermey down the road may not be, time is money.
