One thing i have been wondering lately mind, with so many people at home is broadband in general running slow?
You'll need a USB keyboard then also.mouse is USB keyboard is old skool roundy ...... my wireless KB died a few months ago so plugged this one back in
too small for my limited/degrading eyesight SmiffyYou will be so disappointed in a cheapie
I bought one as very very rarely use a computer and definitely not for anything strenuous and it's terrible
Wasn't the cheapest but definitely budget and it was the biggest waste of money possible
As a stop gap have you considered a tablet
They can more than match the power of cheap laptops
Can use it anywhere so can take drawings outside with you
Built in camera so upload straight to the forum
Then get a proper computer when lockdown is over
would swapping to firefox help do you think ?Ah, yeah, old browser compatibility I guess!
not alone there ..... mine is much better later at nightOne thing i have been wondering lately mind, with so many people at home is broadband in general running slow?
that's in bloody Greecehttps://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/333555774215 would be a suggestion, £75 with 4gb ram and a 320gb disk.
I'd recommend 8gb ram at least 16 if you can afford it, and a SSD also. Should work with your existing screen on VGA or you can hook to a TV on the HDMI. Nice tiny box of tricks too.
Proper geeksville now! Come on - let’s see some welding!!!So I go and fettle with pinkie pie this afternoon and come back to find this is now a tech forum! What happened to the engineer starting a cottage industry!,,![]()

SSDs should be much more reliable than a standard spinny hard drivethat's in bloody Greece...
£169 + £18 delivery for the suggested top package Alex ...
how reliable are the ssd drives?
IIRC my screen has two connecting leads a blue multi plug and a white multi plug ... will have to look ..it's an HP pavillion f1903 .... same age as ol' steamer, but a nice screen and only one pixel dead
or I just buy another screen ... and use it just for net use .....
I have a lot in here and do not want to lose outlook express ... 'kin hate webmail .... just run both of 'em
also says in the spec blurb below it has PS2 mouse and KB ..... but can't see any sockets in their pic ??

it would appear guys that I need some geeksville contributions ATM ... I got booted out earlier as it didn't like steam power anymore and if it wasn't for Ross and Rivmedia twiddling some settings to open the back door for me ... I'd still be out ... "normal service will be resumed as soon as possible" ladsSo I go and fettle with pinkie pie this afternoon and come back to find this is now a tech forum!
