I have emailed those photos to the supplier and see what they say 
...at least they are aware then if it doesnt last I have a record.

FFS your right you couldnt make it up .... and bucket ram went on 1.5t today

send it backReplacement new ram came today - had a look around the port at the weled because thats where the other had gone and erm .... hopefully just a bit of the weld that hasnt been flooded with paint

not so much porosity James as start and tail of the weld aren't sufficiently overlapped, leaving a start point pin hole

TBF prob didnt go far in - a pin in the hole only went in 2 or 3mm so was prob fine but shouldnt be like it and didnt want any hassle later down the road so thought it best go back. Dealer was very good about it and are sending out another tomorrow but before it leaves they will make sure it is checked, dealer spot on but suprising lack of quality control from Kubota.

you may have only been able to push a pin in a few mil Kev, but nothing to say a few hundred bar would not force out what ever your pin was up against ...... it wasn't right .. end of ... done the best thing, slinging it back at 'em

Got the new ram through for the Kubota and this time it was fine round the ports welding wise, so put that on and got the bucket ram of the 1.5t ton to look at this weekend, the ram has stopped returning in (crowding bucket out) sometimes ?? and occasionally it has been wilting right out (crowding bucket in) in a couple of seconds, got a seal kit for it but put ram in the vice at yard tonight and had a quick try at loosing off the end it seems bloody stubborn, any tips before I feck something with the big hammer ??

What type of nut? Any evidence of it being apart before and or evidence of thread sealer, like loctite?

Ram has not been in bits before, its off an old machine 2006 Jcb - we use it from time to time with canopy off for digging out floors etc ,going to yard this aft for a go at it and will check for grub screw etc

Has the little tab been knocked in to the slot for the hook spanner? If not, check for grub screws, or apply a little bit of heat as it may have locktight.
