Not easy to see off pics but if both ends and the middle are all equal then a bit of a gap/bend in the middle of each half could be expected dependant on cost. I've never priced keen buckets if there at the cheaper end you get what you pay for but if there dearer end they should be right.

The middle gusset has done this or should I say it was stuck out more than ends so edge has been pulled down to meet the ends so basically it's 5mm each end

Is it going out on hire cos it could come back far worse. To be fair I've never really checked a new bucket myself other than casting the eye along it so can't say how it compares to others.

I would email them a few pictures and ask what they will do about it. Should be straight, but as Gazcro said, I've never checked any of mine so it could be a common thing, although I wouldn't have thought so.

New bucket I take it Stu?
Yeah
any new grading bucket we put wear strips on and another cutting edge welded to bucket original one but can't remember ever having one bowed like this in the middle as I don't fancy having to bend our new edge to match this one's

One I done few years ago

I‘ve seen a few worse than that from new. If you have a set of carver clamps you could pull it straight onto a piece of RSJ (with spacers) slot you’re new edge between the Carvers and skip weld it. I’ve done it and the heat from welding heat-treats the bucket so when you release the clamps she’s straight. Done quite a few this way, and I’ve been lucky every time.

I short it will be the way it was clamped for welding. To much heat going in one side at once.
With you welding the new edge one could Help it...... or make it worse depending how you done it.

Loving your work there, Stu. Sort of thing I’d do myself. But why don’t you spec the bucket with the wear strips on from new? And if you’re putting that extra edge on, why not have a bolt on edge?

I think if you are going to straighten the new bucket, then you’ll be best to cut the center support away from the bottom, put a good gap in it and the bottom might almost spring back to shape?

Aside from all that, you’ve paid your money, you’re not really happy with it, it should be right imo, I think you should be contacting them to get it rectified. But that’s just my opinion

I agree with you, on a positive, have heard good things about Keen so hopefully they’ll look after you, and sort it out.

I reckon that’s piss poor.should have been checked before sending it out.i would not expect that on a cheap Chinese bucket.i tried to order some buckets from them once but the attitude of the boss was not acceptable to me with a bit of piss taking so I went to rhinox and they got an order for three buckets
