Thanks Ollie, it’s a shame there weren’t camera phones around then, could of got some more. The hard work was done by the lads who used to place the tyres in the cell before they went down the shredded tyre route, artic after artic a day were bought in, curtain sides pulled back and then all pushed out sidewards with a telehandler, those boys could graft for 12 hours a day, and they covered some ground.Great pics @Komatsu. In this throw away culture we now find ourselves in, I think it would be good if more of the population realised exactly what does happen to their waste when they "put it in the bin". The scale and effort that clearly goes into making these tips that will be there for 1000's of years really makes you think.
Its so far removed from the work I do but I would love the chance to try a dozer out. And dig a proper sized hole one day..... Maybe I could start a gold mine with a few mates![]()
