Last job. 4k worth of new planting two years ago. It’s been forgotten whilst the house is undergoing major refurb. Customer showed me round two days ago and I saw it looking like this 🫣 might be too late for a couple but I’m watering morning and evening and should get more irrigation supply hose tomorrow. Most of it I think can be saved. Hedge will get a drip line also.

Absolutely loving the 2.6T with the tilty.... everything is suddenly easy! Especially with the gripper.

I must admit that I felt like the EZ26 was overkill at the beginning of the job, and the tarmac on this new built being outrageously soft, did have me questioning my choices

About 16 tonnes of 'soil' out, and about 16 tonnes of screened topsoil/compost mix in

Planted a beech hedge on site I’m at last autumn, it’s struggled since day one was very wet to start off, then gone so dry twice day watering hasn’t cut it. Will pull out and save what I can , replacing in October when the new stock gets dug.. got drip line setup ready to go!

Put over £100k's worth of trees in on a project earlier this year. Its been someone's full time job with a UTV and bowser to try and keep them alive all summer. The contractor I work for is on the hook for them for the first year - got another £100k of them to plant this Autumn.
You could never have predicted this summer, but its been bloody hard work in the landscaping game trying to keep things alive.
Some stuff its been cheaper to let it die than try and keep it alive with the labour involved. But the trees are too valuable.

100k worth of mature trees or 100k worth of whips? We planted 100k worth of plants for someone probably 10 years ago and In reality it didn't go far. Probably 70m of beech hedge and then a the rest as 6m plus rootball trees.
All imported things. No native species.

Contractor near me has been going past us everyday with 16 IBC on the back to go water trees! Nearly half a day turnaround.. with no end in sight!!

Been a kitchen fitted this week, one of the more enjoyable internal jobs! Big fan of DIY kitchens having used them for the first time - altho the delivery is a shambles - 7day delivery window - and then got a txt on Sunday morning 15mins before they were due to deliver!! Then missing afew draw fronts and surrounds.. let’s see how they resolve it!?
Oh and a thanks to our inhouse forum glue dealer @Lancs Lad for the floor glue

Diy quality was great when I used them. Still 18mm backs on the carcasses? Now Howdens have bought them we will see if it stays the same.

The delivery is a bit crazy. I had some local lad on standby to help me unload think it came about 8pm one night. Might even have been a weekend. I think you can pay more for a more predictable delivery slot?

Also are you going to have an island where those pipes are? My missus wants one in new place. With suspended floor I'm thinking how and where to run the ducts. Do you drop cold in a duct below the block and beam 750mm into the ground like your water service pipe? Hot water do you do the same or just run in a small conduit sized duct within the insulation or in the slab? Same question for leccy, underneath floor, underneath slab or within slab in small duct?

Do you drop cold in a duct below the block and beam 750mm into the ground like your water service pipe? Can't see any reason to go that deep internally if it's far from the entry point externally

Yeah island is all oak, so ordered separately as it had a very long lead time.

Yeah island is all oak, so ordered separately as it had a very long lead time.

Elec is ducted over slab under insulation/screed, same with hot and cold, but they are separately lagged so it’s not sat on the concrete.

I will have to have suspended floor so block and beam or warm block and beam with 70mm SCC screed/slab topping. If having ufh that's already 16mm so got to try find a way thread these services through. I was thinking cold water be easy to duct at same depth at service coming in. Hot I was thinking in a conduit duct chopped into insulation just below screed/slab. I think cold would have to be away from ufh not to get warned up? Although would only be 2mish run from a wall so not much water to run off. Do you have to worry about legionnaires if cold being heated by ufh at them flow temps? Leccy same as hot in a conduit just below.

Missus wants the kitchen doing so units dont run along window wall.

Water is under /insulation chopped into it , so won’t warm up, ufh is only running at 20deg so won’t be an issue anyway.
