@T whiting interesting comment on steering lock - I hadn’t envisaged this being a thing? The Thwaites version literally looks like they have just stuck a cab on the mainframe?

Thwaites were 8k more for a cab with ac fyi @Gunners 🫣

Yes at full steering lock and full articulation the skip get pretty near the steering column the cab is square on the front so they wound the steering stops out to stop it colliding

Plenty of subsidised finance out there. But with base rate where it is it’s all more than folk are used to.

My e10 was 0% a few months ago, would of been rude not to.

It’s still the best micro by far if you are dealing with tight gaps.

Out on mine today, 7 years old and just ticked over 700 hours. £400 readies by 13:00 and 8 litres of diesel used, what’s not to like?

And thats £8k on top of an already inflated price for the standard machine!
Had prices well north of £20k for a 3t straight tip earlier this year. When you can hire them for £130/week its just not worth owning one.
@T whiting has a good point here. Find a pre 2018 Terex with the full fat 444 engine in - before they nuked them to 75hp. And spend some money refurbing it. Even with the cost of the best raincoat you can buy for your operator - its going to be a better machine for half the cost.

Its not the JCB 444 engine one you want, go a little earlier and get a Terex with the Deutz TCD3.6, those were proper rockets, around 90hp in the 6t and 110hp in the 9t! I did the majority of the installation development on that and the JCB one.

If I were choosing a cab, I'd probably bite the bullet and try and find a dual view. Being brutally honest, the Mecalac looks great but isn't really quiet enough inside. I'd most likely be looking at a Wacker.

Just let my old one go, 10 years old 2500hrs never had a pin or Bush in it. Don't get me wrong you could feel the freshness between them but I do keep on top of greasing and the odd shimm

Still love my 8010 tho, that's now 16 years old but we won't go there in this thread

I've never been able to justify the cost of new dumpers so I've always bought decent used....and they have always made the best sense.
