get it to switch a relay, controlling the gripper function then ..
route the tilt control through the normally closed contacts and the gripper control through the normally open contacts ... when the relay is energised it'll disconnect the tilt function and engage the gripper's function control - job done

I used my horn button on lil' jake to control my grab function .. with a double acting switch (basically the same thing/idea) one way is horn/other way is a 6x2 diverter to switch from crowd to grab - didn't have a spare button to use and just leave it switched to the 6x2

Sounds like the installer can’t be arsed making it happen. In your user manual what does it say that button is for? It’ll be fitted to perform a function in certain markets (quick hitch etc) - if you can find which fuse that should control then you can pick up a feed from there.

Thankyou for all the suggestions, I do get the distinct impression that health and safety is an excuse, I made it very clear when speccing the tilty i wanted the button on the joystick, it's in the email chains, and I explained to the installer exactly how I wanted it set up. I've got a 7 day newborn baby that I'm currently in the midst of dealing with - so my mind is very much on other things!!

I will make these suggestions and see if can get anywhere with someone higher up the chain...

absolutely .... pretty crap service/effort on the installer's part ... not rocket science

They often run at 5v in the joystick (canbus) and aren’t great at triggering solenoids ime.

hence disconnect from existing circuit - give it a 12v feed, with a (switched - by said button) 12v supply coming from it to 12v double acting relay to power the necessary in the tilty's controllers

It’s how my Rototilts are installed - they did the first one themselves and I’ve done them the same way since.

Anyone got any ideas about where to put the switch to toggle between tilt and grab? Apparently the button on the joystick can't be used (encased in resin apparently).... they've put one on the control panel, meaning I'll have to take my hand off the joystick to activate... would a foot pedal be better?

In my small walker the joystick buttons were all in use, so stuck a row of extra buttons to the side (see picture). Tried momentary buttons, but ended up with on/off. Just encased in heat shrink (not shrunken over the actual buttons) for protection and wire run down the outside and into the boot. Wasn't the best looking, but worked well.

After a somewhat difficult install (perhaps to be expected with a new product and supply chain) I'm pleased to report that I have got a tr025 tilt rotator set up as requested. Kinshofer UK have been very good to me overall and despite a couple of hiccups, I'd not hesitate to do business with them again.

First impressions are excellent, rotate and tilt are fast and smooth, flow sharing between all the different functions is very nice and even - a lovely product.

The EZ26-2 handles the weight well, the full 900mm scandi grading bucket at full reach across the tracks does make it nod, but it's no worse than before the tilty was installed. So, yes, very happy with the TR025 - I'm going to very much enjoy getting to grips with it.

Speaking of getting to grips - the gripper is an absolute dream . Possible game changer in the sub 3T tiltrotator market?? I've only been on the machine for half an hour and it's already proven useful.

I'll get a few more pics when i have a chance spend a bit more time on it.
