do it as well as you can,but learn to do it better
just had a conversation with me tech guy on FB messaging ... told me what to order from Amazon ... be here tomorrow and he'll come and sort it for me when I have the bits  new SSD and adaptor tray
thought that was too good to be true:rolleyes:
on me Lenovo Thinkpad tonight.... not gonna take the chance of burgering the HD in the W10 and give Simon a fighting chance to clone it
hate laptops with a passion ... pissy screen and awful mouse ... not got a spare I can plug in :(

been a long day on the strimmer - spent 7 hours wielding the husqy, doing all the perimeters, I can't get at with the mowers ... been wrapped up in a boiler suit all day, trying to avoid being eaten alive by the bloody horse flies - must've killed a hundred or more today - damned things have been hunting in squadrons... then gonna have to collect it all up Friday - Harper day tomorrow ... only a few more Thursdays with her ... will be starting school in September and Vicki'll be off for the summer holidays in a few weeks - where did that go eh ??:oops:

spent a bit of time determining the mount hole sizes, cleaning them out and then deciding on their PCDs so's I can create it a back/mount plate (or two) - be handy on the Ajax too, as well as the intended Harrison's mandrel - or could just catch it in the 4 jaw for now, but nice to have a dedicated D1-8 backplate for it.(y)

Eclipse 9" magnetic chuck :giggle: - very hard to find at the right sort of bucks

Needed another 06.45 start this morning - Clara has been learning to play the clarinet for the last couple of years and had her first exam for it today - in Zooport! :(- so her and Mummy had an early departure to be there for 09.15 and we had to take Harper to nursery.

was just about to go to bed last night at just after 12 o'clock - picked up my phone off the desk to find a missed text from Vicki, earlier in the evening .... could I print off some paperwork they had to take with them this morning??:(
Ferk!!o_O
My Laserjet is still plugged into the XP (don't print much these days) and've never tried to run it off the W10 - it's 26 years old, but works superbly - with XP :whistle:

so turned the thinkpad back on to see what she'd sent in email - copied the att.s to a stick as the XP refuses to talk to the wireless dongle for the wifi and turned 'old faithful' on..... not used it in a while ....:unsure:
got an old copy of full Acrobat on the XP which opened the att.s fine - 'til I asked it to print, at which point it claimed the files were corrupted and closed:mad: - opened a fully viewable file, but refused point blank to print.o_O:unsure::mad:
tried all sorts to copy the content out to Word .. if I'd had W10, behaving, could've snip and sketched it or maybe even saved it as a J.peg to copy to stick to print - but that didn't wanna play either. :(
Eventually got the XP's copy of Acrobat Reader to print it to a PDF after several tries, which I could then print off on the laserjet ... it's now gone half one

hit the pit .... body decided I needed to get back up at 02.50 :(
Hit the pit a second time
04.50 ... 'twas get yer arse up again Druid:mad:
06.45 I'm listening to Simple Minds, Ghost Dancing as the alarm is saying get yer arse up again Druid
didn't get a lorrrakip last night.:(
At Vicki's for 07.45 - they left shortly after and we took Harper to nursery at 08.30(y)
home, by nine, on screen saver, had some brekky and thought sod it - going back to bed for a couple of hours, only to be rudely awoken by the all pervading smell of ....... sh1t :oops:o_O:sick:...... wafting through the Velux an hour later.

you'd have sworn they were spreading on our lawn:cry: - farmer two fields away must have his own personal weather front coming in shortly - the fields he silaged off two weeks ago are still parched/scorched and he has absolutely buried them in slurry o_O- if it doesn't burn off what's left of the grass, before it rains I'll eat my hat(s) :ROFLMAO:- sod all forecast for the next ten days and the smell is just unreal
If I don't sleep tonight, I will be shocked ... beyond screen saver ATM, but determined to stick it out, 'til I'm totally bollo-ed and'll hopefully be unconscious for the night :giggle:

have had a bit of a reprieve from the sh1t spraying ...
pump on it sounded pretty ropey 'bout lunchtime yesterday...
this thing is on a scale similar to the Exon Valdez ..
gotta be 11'+ wide and totally fills the lanes with an ENORMOUS JD hauling it ..
they'd just started on the next 20 acre field and it appears to have died ...
not seen it since and barely made a mark on the next field....
two runs in one corner and it vanished, ....
presumably waiting on spares

🤣 had to laugh when I seen that chair. I know your pain now. Tbf ive had ours up against the garage wall bit more sheltered from the wind and its done okay

Also printers must be the only technology to have regressed in 20 years. Pure enshittification. My inkjet recently stopped printing well but she has had a new one for her birthday from some friends. I will gladly throw that oldun in the bin.

yeh Pam's inkjet is a piece of crap - eats cartridges and is so unreliable .. the Lazerjet is only B&W but does a great print ... cartridges last for 1000s of pages and are a fiver
I've two A3 inkjets and an AO plotter - none of which have been turned on in years and'll need cartridges and heads on the plotter ... doubt I'll ever use the AO again TBH

came down lunchtime from burning a load of grass and the bloody thing's done it again

been round the lawn this morning raking up all the border/edge massacring from Wed.s .. there was a lot so sod the barrow ...
Countax tug and trailer time

went up like Roman candles, but a tad warm today for the job .. yet more crap dealt with :giggle::giggle:

a few Qs for anyone that might know:unsure:
this Lenovo thinkpad is running Chromebook OS - can not get it to recognise/talk to my phone on a USB cable ... have also tried to get it to link on blue tooth, but to no avail either .. just doesn't 'recognise' the Nokia ..... any one any ideas??
have had to fire up 'old faithful '- XP steam powered again, to get at the phone pix and copy to my stand alone, then transfer into here - bloody nuisance
I did however, when I had her fired up last night, have a massive back up of the back up stand alone, to the XP which has a fairly new HD in it:giggle: ... belt and braces(y)
only reason I stopped using the XP was for the fact that it was struggling to access a lot of internet sites :(. the 'puter itself is still going strong - and is older than the Laserjet printer, all be it a bit of a 'Trigger's broom', re.- HDs, the main guts're still performing well - slower than the W10 but at least it's there to use still (y)

You may as well flog the plotter then? Consumer inkjet printers have been a scam for years, printer costs 20 quid but to get new genuine ink cartridges costs more. I was buying refills with my old one. She has printed off a photo tonight on the special glossy paper and tbf its acceptable.

I doubt it's worth a lot Jim
HP designjet 130NR ... cost me well over a grand - will do photo quality AO sheets or on a roll and cuts to size ... was a complicated thing to 'drive' , but I used it a fair bit for drawings from Acad ..... not been heavily used though - 20 ish drawings a week 'praps
's like new.
this looks like its successor
