Picked Clara up from school and the pair of them had a rare old time playing with the Countax tug for a couple of hours with G/dad sat on the front corner of the trailer - supervising

might have a candidate to learn to drive/operate the other Countax and mow the lawn

DHL dropped this off this afters .. been after one for a while and not cheap .. Ben at toolz4you rang me Tuesday to say he'd gotten one to suit my requirements - sent me some pix and I had a very good deal on it.

Pity they forgot to pack the odd shaped key that actuates it

spent a bit of time determining the mount hole sizes, cleaning them out and then deciding on their PCDs so's I can create it a back/mount plate (or two) - be handy on the Ajax too, as well as the intended Harrison's mandrel - or could just catch it in the 4 jaw for now, but nice to have a dedicated D1-8 backplate for it.

Eclipse 9" magnetic chuck

- very hard to find at the right sort of bucks
Needed another 06.45 start this morning - Clara has been learning to play the clarinet for the last couple of years and had her first exam for it today - in Zooport!

- so her and Mummy had an early departure to be there for 09.15 and we had to take Harper to nursery.
was just about to go to bed last night at just after 12 o'clock - picked up my phone off the desk to find a missed text from Vicki, earlier in the evening .

... could I print off some paperwork they had to take with them this morning??

Ferk!!

My Laserjet is still plugged into the XP (don't print much these days) and've never tried to run it off the W10 - it's 26 years old, but works superbly - with XP

so turned the thinkpad back on to see what she'd sent in email - copied the att.s to a stick as the XP refuses to talk to the wireless dongle for the wifi and turned 'old faithful' on..... not used it in a while ....

got an old copy of full Acrobat on the XP which opened the att.s fine - 'til I asked it to print, at which point it claimed the files were corrupted and closed

- opened a fully viewable file, but refused point blank to print.

tried all sorts to copy the content out to Word .. if I'd had W10, behaving, could've snip and sketched it or maybe even saved it as a J.peg to copy to stick to print - but that didn't wanna play either.

Eventually got the XP's copy of Acrobat Reader to print it to a PDF after several tries, which I could then print off on the laserjet ... it's now gone half one
hit the pit .... body decided I needed to get back up at 02.50

Hit the pit a second time
04.50 ... 'twas get yer arse up again Druid

06.45 I'm listening to Simple Minds, Ghost Dancing as the alarm is saying
get yer arse up again Druid
didn't get a lorrrakip last night.

At Vicki's for 07.45 - they left shortly after and we took Harper to nursery at 08.30

home, by nine, on
screen saver, had some brekky and thought sod it - going back to bed for a couple of hours, only to be rudely awoken by the all pervading smell of ....... sh1t

...... wafting through the Velux an hour later.
you'd have sworn they were spreading on our lawn

- farmer two fields away must have his own personal weather front coming in shortly -

the fields he silaged off two weeks ago are still parched/scorched and he has absolutely buried them in slurry

- if it doesn't burn off what's left of the grass, before it rains I'll eat my hat(s)

- sod all forecast for the next ten days and the smell is just unreal

If I don't sleep tonight, I will be shocked ... beyond
screen saver ATM, but determined to stick it out, 'til I'm totally bollo-ed and'll hopefully be unconscious for the night
