It will all become adopted though. Same as the sewers.
would think that would depend entirely on where the meters are sited :unsure:
my old workshop had a meter in the road 400-ish yards, across the bus station in front of my site, from where it entered my building .... developed a leak after i became ill in 2010 and it was my problem from the meter on - so turned the water off - job sorted - paid the bill for what had leaked and then refused to pay any more water or sewage - nowt coming in, so nowt going out ;)

We stick a 1m off cut vertical at joints like this makes them easier to find and trace the line once back filled leave it sticking up 100mm or so dependent on field use
God forbid you have a leak on 1 of the bottom pipes 😆
