Bang on.I heard yesterday morning Reform Home Affairs spokesman Zia Yusuf on morning news about 8.40am. He seemed to have a lot of good sense to offer on the problem of illegal immigration, not least the danger of applicants claiming to be gay or victims of domestic violence so as to be allowed to stay. He said even if this is so we cannot take in the hundreds of millions worldwide that could then apply. He said we need a moratorium on immigration for some years as the UK taxpayer has been taken for a fool. Also that legal aid should be extended to UK citizens only

Separate to this I hear that research by the Dutch shows that each low skill non European immigrant that turns up in their country costs on average £330,000 to the state over their lifetime (so £1 million per 3) I think the Dutch state is similar to ours, so similar costs would apply here.
I cannot see anything here that Rupert Lowe would not back, so it is splitting hairs as to who has the correct way forward.
Lately I have been watching many old UK detective shows from the '70s / '80s . It really brings home how we have lost our industrial base. Most cars were then UK made, & by chance I have seen Coles & Smith cranes, Taylor & Challen presses, BSA bikes. Found my old class photo from 1970, most kids parents worked next door to the school at a huge foundry & machine shop that made bronze bushes for makes such as Blaw Knox, Rapier, (& even huge bottom roller bushes for Cat Uddingston). Firm was Marshall Osborne, another nearby was Walker Engineering - these made sub assemblies for Blaw Knox. All long gone. I fear there is no real road back to the prosperity we once had
Prosperity these days is 100k salary spent on mortgage for a new barrat hutch and 2 cars plus all the other must haves . And then they moan their skint.
