You've never tried one. For grab work they are a godsend.

That duck looks nice on the flotation tyres but it's starship hours.
Big hours but id expect not many of them were doing proper work so u likely to be as worn out as you might expect. Plenty of ducks around with 15000 hrs or so. It's £35k

if yer's gonna buy a duck - you want a VA boom ... if you don't believe me - ask @doobin ;):giggle:
I wouldn’t be fussed on a va boom . I haven’t owned one but I have had an offset boom on a 788 case and it’s a lot of additional weight up there .

yeh the offset is a lump for sure, 'specially Case's version ... a week or two with a VA and you'd be converted Vin ;)

I was wondering that. My duck on floaties needed a steady hand especially with the weight of the thumb on too would have thought less weight out there is better. But then does tab actually add that much - few extra rams and metal and in closer to the machine.

Saw the big old Duck waddle past my unit this morning . Snapped a tine/cylinder mount on the grab. Owner (nearly 80) had it welded back up and working again by end of the day.
Still never seen another with VA and offset apart from this old beast.

Poor sods.😞 Looks like a nasty accident ..not wanting to cast blame.. but last time I was in London I was staggered what death wish most pedestrians seem to have and an utter disregard for the rules.

So thankful I visit but twice a year max.

I don't think it's just London. We have a culture in this country of a lack of self preservation and personal responsibility. And it filters down into every element of society.

bang on ..... most folk think it's everyone else's responsibility to 'take care' of them .. I didn't get to nigh on 70 by standing under suspended loads, or in front of FLTs / trucks / cars / etc. or jumping off high places - even the dullest knows electric kills and leave it alone

I know what you saying but London just seems so much worse. Probably due to the wonders of Diversity. I mean if you are driving a dodgy electric bike doing 30mph delivering takeaway crap why wouldn't you wear a helmet?
