I don’t mind paying to park, i begrudge when it’s a pokey setup where you’re packed in and the people who don’t give a toss open their door straight onto your car or slide down with bags etc. Occasionally I park in the “worlds safest carpark” in Derby. I don’t mind paying a bit more to have decent sized bays, individual bay security and access controlled doors.

If I've to go anywhere like that I take my old shitter, I don't care if anyone smacks a door into it, I don't care if I reverse it into a bollard with it.

It's literally the best feeling knowing you can walk away from it and laugh if you come back and the bumper corner has been pulled off.

I won't take anything I care about to such places...downside been the shitter gets more use than anything nice I own.

I used to have an old 1.9D berlingo van that was used like that, but as you say it ends up that the nice things rarely get used then. I’ve just bought a Citroen C1 that might end up being a new shitter
