Ordered a load of 10mm pipe bedding(limestone!)… this crud turned up, man made ‘limestone’ some compressed co2 waste rubbish, doesn’t flow, sticky and absolutely covers you in muck! Got the rep coming tomorrow, first time in 20+yrs I’ve had to get someone out to look at a load of agg I’ve had delivered!

Anyone else come across it before?

One way to do carbon burying I suppose.

Looks shite stuff just with the pictures.

I use 10mm clean recycled for majority of pipe bedding (I always give customers the options on it)
Local wash plant does a very nice end product and has been consistent for many years. One of the better recycled products about I think.

Never been a fan of new technology!! Did you not get a sample first…..or is it a 20ton sample. Answer tomorrow I guess!!

I ordered 10mm clean limestone from my merchant, not 20ton of captured carbon! They can pick it up on a grab wagon!

Maybe if it wasn’t covered in sticky mud clay type sludge it might be okay, I tried to wash a handful and it wouldn’t come clean!

I used to use clean recycled from Coates park @hiluxman , absolutely no issue with that at all!
This crap you can level it out and put a footprint indent in it and it stays like modelling clay! I think they mix it into concrete blocks at a certain ratio..

I’ve named this crap Grey Rice Krispies ! It’s dried out somewhat in 24hrs and isn’t so bad, does bind and hold together tbh

I like it to bind together somewhat, like the 10mm limestone crush does, unlike pea gravel which just spreads constantly

Depends on what you use it for I think - small gravel runs nicely into voids around odd shaped tanks etc - if its just bedding/surrounding and not draining then I like the declassified sand from our quarry as it sets nearly like a lean mix after compaction.
if the weather is shite the goto is gravel.

A nice relaxing job for a change today. Blessed with excellent weather too which really helped.

Just had to seal up the eves with some builders mesh to stop squirrel ingress, and replace the wooden mounting points in the lime mortar for the downpipe. Turns out the need a new section as top section was bodged at the top and fractured at the bottom so left mewp on site and will return to finish later.

M18 bandsaw coming in super handy already.

Good day today, spent the morning roughing in a new trench to see if it will help drain the field behind, so far so good, pulled out some posts I put in over Christmas- turns out it's not their land! Replaced with a large tree trunk on the correct side of the ditch
Headed over to my Dads regular customer, shifted the world's biggest concrete gate post stump and mounded up the soil/compost pile.
Good day apart from the pressure washer conking out before id got the trailer done this afternoon

I used it while waiting for him to turn up

Must admit once he started talking and mentioned that it’s carbon negative and they sell the carbon credits on the carbon market which makes the product carbon neutral I just completely switched off and vowed to never accept it again!
Also the suppling merchant won’t be getting another agg order from me again as I found they had been offered both manmade and virgin limestone and just opted for the cheaper one without giving me the option!
