That guys are hard on even the best of gear. The tranny I think is still aiming for the middle ground between the premium mercs or MAN and the budget fiats or Peugeot 
.Still a good saving on buying a transit over a sprinter or crafter.

It was a fleet operator, said he had six brand new and had been given another as a spare to use as they had so many problems IIRC.

Trannys are still outselling everyone else by about 5:1 so think you’ll be fine. Had the same sort of offers posted through to me the other month with some great savings to be made. As for the scrap page scheme, my understanding was that it was on going? Only thing they said was that you had to if owned it for a minimum of 6 months, was actually encouraged to go down to local auction, pick one up for a couple of hundred pound, because of the saving to be made. Whether they get a bonus or something for taking a scrapper in, I’m not sure?, but with that and the discounts from BASC or National gamekeepers association, some big money to be saved
Still a good saving on buying a transit over a sprinter or crafter.

Heard all these stories when I bought my Last one! just over 80k on it now and the only thing its had apart from a service and brakes was an Intercooler hose, it rubbed through went into limp mode, Called the dealer (a local independent dear that specialise in transits) he said, bring it in. Brought it in at 2.30 and was back home at 4.30.... can't beat that!
Far as i can see its all the fleet owners with many different drivers that have problems

Not the New ones to be fair! This one is still spotless at almost 4 year old. Its the white ones that are worst i think! my last white one was worse than my old yellow one that is still looking ok parked down the field under a treejust don't plan on keeping it too long

I think there's a am I right in saying 10 speed auto coming next year
10. Speed!. This one I'm getting would qualify for 3.5 ton if it had the 4.10 ratio axle but I plan on doing more miles than heavy towing so compromised on the 2.8 ton towing. Me old one had a roof rack that I used occasionally but think the newer ones are a bit too high for that. Might get a longer trailer instead

if you were to go by the prices for new vans from the manufacturers website you wouldn’t buy one, once you spec one up the price can end up absolutely crazy

It's injector problems on the new 2.0 biturbo, rangers have had the same issue.
Problem is with the ranger and the transit they outsell the competition by a huge margin so will always be more issues heard, plus no-one ever really sings their praise of no issues so you'll only hear the horror stories

it’s been a busy month for sure, the truck order was placed end of November, just been getting painted silver ready to collect now. Then my van went the cylinder head, she was due changing next year and ford are doing a scrapage scheme so she went and got a new transit 350 RWD limited 185ps and then on Sunday just past I managed to collect a deerNew van, New truck your splashing out
what van have did you get?
with the front of my discovery and the airbags went off in my face and I’m still waiting to hear if it’s getting fixed or total loss. So might be change all round. It’s going to have to be a busy year next year Footer block 1
