How does this compare to your micro and what micro do you have?

Yanmar sv08, great thing, my most useful machine. Digs perfectly fine for a micro, it's on sticks not servos which I can't say bothers me, I wouldn't trade it for a wider machine just for that. It's so narrow I've had it in some ridiculously tight spots runs the auger ok too.
Comparing the 2, well the takeuchi is twice the size and digs 3 times as well! Think they are a decent pair of machines really

I agree, we’ve got one too, no frills, basic solid little digger that will go anywhere.

But am I right in thinking you've never really liked it? If so why not?
A Takeuchi 215r/217r are high on my shopping list, my mate has one and everyone loves it. I certainly do, every time I drive it I want to keep going. I rang him up the other day, asked him 'if you were buying another 1.5, what would you buy?' With no hesitation he said 'same again, no question'. Can't get better endorsement than that?
Shame they're relatively rare.

217 was out on hire to my mate with the 215 today, left me a voice note (fair play, he knew I was too busy for one of our usual chats). After a couple of bits about leaving keys etc it basically said what an absolute belter of a machine it was exactly what I wanted- a machine I look forward to driving that I can trust to earn a couple of quid while I'm 180 miles away

What's it cost you to dispose of the stumps?

In the end, 4 post holes with the petrol auger as a favour for the farm manager
Did that for him then they just weren't in my trailer anymore

Everyone likes a favour for a favour.

Currently here if its stumps as dug it's £90pt but if its stumps and green its £60pt.

Morning job scrapeing out in the woods with the 217 at the top of our field for the land lady. Still love driving this machine.
Always prefer a canopy but bloody hell my legs were cold! Couldn't find any spare jumpers in the disco but did find an old curtain
Later on I found 2 pairs of winter trousers I'd forgotten about in the shed, good job too as I've got 2 weeks on the 217 in January

I remember on a micro a few years ago a dust sheet over my legs for 2 days. A cab in winter is a much nicer place to be

Not normally a problem for me, either I'm on and off the machine every 5 minutes or I just keep adding coats
Used to do ride on mowing at a particular house where the wind just seemed to whip across, even mid summer. Adding a layer every so often, personal record was t shirt, 2 fleeces, down jacket and down Gilet

crane cabs could be equally cold places - when the bloody cab heater'd refuse to light - had to have the door open or couldn't see for steamy windows -- used to have a one piece fleece suit (for in a diving dry suit) under a boiler suit
