Civils firm round Southampton runs boatloads of them. Some larger machines with knuckle booms too- a blast from the past! One of my good customers asked if I'd do a job for them....however its way out of my area. So I said yes if they organised a machine as I'm not dragging mine that distance.
Got there today to find a few weeks old kobelco sk26.
Not done much with it so far. So I'll reserve judgment on it yet.

Only driven an old 8t kobelco so this is first of the newer stuff I've tried.Civils firm round Southampton runs boatloads of them. Some larger machines with knuckle booms too- a blast from the past!
Alot of the Kobelco mini range are actually Yanmars painted blue. Not sure about this one though as doesn't look familiar to the Yanmar onesOnly driven an old 8t kobelco so this is first of the newer stuff I've tried.
Nice and smooth on the levers and quick enough, everything tight, which you'd expect on a machine with only 90 hours on.
Still laid out in the cab like an old Japanese machine.
Not keen on the extra step in the cab floor created by the sliding door runner. Has a few big blind spots with cab frame.
Plenty of leg room and you can track with pedals. But not a spacious cab.
I can't say too much in terms of power as this is another pond job rather than pulling foundations.
It doesn't have auto idle, not that I'm fussed as used to not having it. But does have an idle button...which on the pond jobs there is alot of stopping and waiting for a min or so.
Back at the job where the kobelco was, this time they have sent a volvo ec27c. Its done nearly 4k hours, and is 8 years old, much prefer it, in fact if they were side by side I'd take the volvo over the kobelco with only 96hrs on.Alot of the Kobelco mini range are actually Yanmars painted blue. Surely you've taken your liking for it too farBack at the job where the kobelco was, this time they have sent a volvo ec27c. Its done nearly 4k hours, and is 8 years old, much prefer it, in fact if they were side by side I'd take the volvo over the kobelco with only 96hrs on.
Haha.Surely you've taken your liking for it too far
probably stuck on to stop it dead ending, if the service s activated ..... you jammy sodSo just to confirm I'm not been abit thick here.
The new machine came without aux pipe work (1 of reasons I got it so cheap), so ignoring the oil, if I remove this little hose and run a line from each port up the arm with some couplers I'd get 2 way aux?
Flicking the aux roller on the lever produces oil from there.
I was just expecting to see 2 blanked ports rather than a little link between.View attachment 62831
