How do you mean lack of effort? Surely if rare secondhand that means people hold on to them.Overpriced Nonsense that is almost always used badly in the majority of cases.
The lack of effort in promoting secondhand units tells a story as does the seemingly similar pricing amongst manufacturers. Just my penneth

Tbh the ram isnt an issue in what I do, and its not hard to workaround but it would be better if it wasnt there, as long as it didnt give up too much power.I'm a year in.
Cost definitely needs looking at.
Be great if manufacturers bought into the plug and play.
I'd never used 1 until I bought mine had loads of great advice before buying from the guys on here, but experience is key.
Mine lacks / would be better if:-
1 Had a top hitch
2 Unable to drop it off as fixed pipes (rectifyable)
3 Has the longer dipper would be better with the short 1
4 Dedicated control unit cradles built into machines
5 Cost of buckets / attachments is high
6 S40 is heavy on a sub 3t machine
7 Extra hydraulic lines would be better
8 A better construction method to alleviate limited dig depth on narrow trenches, Nox looks good but i don't know enough to pass judgement
9 With the R1 I wish it had a button to automatically return to a pre set position e.g 90 degrees to dipper, I think R2 up they have it?
Use 1 and jump in a machine without, you realise straight away how useful they are.
The time saved in not having to constantly move / damage on uneven ground.
Yeah that is a lump for sureTbh the ram isnt an issue in what I do, and its not hard to workaround but it would be better if it wasnt there, as long as it didnt give up too much power.
Actually wanted to put a nox on mine, would of bought one if they hadn't insisted that I put a tr11 on @ 320kg ! when the one that I wanted and supposedly covered upto 7t ie Tr07 is 200kg
Lost faith in them when they thought a tr11 was ok ...wtf
There is a specific reason you don't see many on the open secondhand market in the UKHow do you mean lack of effort? Surely if rare secondhand that means people hold on to them.
All comes down to them being too pricey new then? Only takes one member to break ranks to break up a cartel. Who will be first? There is a specific reason you don't see many on the open secondhand market in the UK![]()
As in private sellers? There is a specific reason you don't see many on the open secondhand market in the UK![]()
I’d be more inclined to keep my tilty and change the machine it’s fitted to, particularly as I run them under a top hitch. There is a specific reason you don't see many on the open secondhand market in the UK![]()
I knew it!!I possibly don’t fit the typical profile of anyone
It's a they/themI knew it!!
reckon that is pretty bang on Rory ... certainly here in the ukIt's a they/them
From my understanding there is a extremely strong desire by manufacturers to buy back units rather than have them appear privately. With the units either being reconditioned, or just being scrapped. Why let the free market dictate prices when you can inflate the price.
Private sales seem to put most units in the £2000-5000 range in the UK. And I've yet to see a package sale secondhand of machine and tilty that makes what it comparatively "should" IMHO. If the buy back attitude changes there will be some sad faces.
You can buy a 1.5t digger for the price of a tiltys for a 5t machine..... Which is perhaps the stupidest reality check you could ever wish for.
And no disrespect at all to Furniss. But having watched from the sidelines and dabbled with others setups, I've seen very few that have actually advanced and made significant gains for the buyer.... Infact I've seen more people revert from high spec tilty equipped big machines to mini diggers with tiltys.... Many ways to look at it but personally the model isn't a sustainable one.
It's in line with my apsolute pet hate of Microsoft making it as difficult as possible to purchase there software such as office and pushing everyone to have it on subscription. Nothing but a way to increase profits out of a fixed market that you cannot increase the size of.reckon that is pretty bang on Rory ... certainly here in the uk
Id have to disagree/argue that one. I know for a fact one of the main 3 dont really want your old units and will encourage you to sell privately.reckon that is pretty bang on Rory ... certainly here in the uk
IIRC Engcon where doing basic units around that price, and some of the existing tilty users didn't like itSeems a gap in the market ..
CPS/ druidfab Collab ....gold tiltys.. Bingo
Jokes apart if someone rolls one out for 5k for a 3t size they going to cream it in?
They were selling something along those lines alongside Sunward diggers - I don’t think they looked cheap enough for a punt though (they were still big money for an unknown Chinese unit imo).Seems a gap in the market ..
