So like a cock I reversed over the pipecutter as we were clearing up.
Anyone bought anything since this thread, £230 now for a new 1. I was hoping milwaukee did a 355mm metal battery cut off saw but can't see 1

We are using the dewalt 1 hand recip saw with a Diablo carbide blade which is quiet thick, 30-40mm makes keeking it straight easier and the metex chamfer tool that also trues them up, fast and easy and works very well for us.

Does a single hand recip saw and blade combo like that do a decent job on 110mm ?
Im on makita kit but they have their own version.

Do you Mark around the pipe and cut or just cut through?

I can't believe that nobody apart from rems do a battery tool for it. All the other stuff they have surely there must be a market for a decent reasonable priced tool

I use either K770 petrol saw, handsaw or makita angle grinder, tried a recip saw but not a single handed and prob with wrong blade and it was shite.
I just mark to length then cut (dont mark right round) be good to have something like rems but needs to be battery and portable for trenchside.

I think someone on here said the Makita 9in battery disk cutter does a 110mm pipe in one go no turning it

If its a decent length of pipe then it would prob need support at other end to get a square cut and also would need something to spin in.
Yeah was thinking same. Frustrating as you think there would be something readily available that would cut and chamfer in 1.

It's keeping it square's the main issue. Noticed a difference in quality of connection when it is

Not used 1. Which brand metex are available in screwfix i think

Neither have I but they have one to play with on the desk of the civils merchant and they often try and sell it to me, and one of the things they claim is it sorts out wonky or bad cuts. Will also trim pipes down if they are marginally to long. I don't know how much you would want to remove with one though
