So what had broke on the slew ring? Or just badly worn?

the tracks tend to wear first as the balls/rollers are usually harder than the races

Finally got around to wet testing the new MK6 Kero Transfer pump today. (the wet on the floor is from something else). Runs a lot quieter than the MK5 and self primes properly. The last one was a trial rig built during lockdown, and its had heavy use since so needs a full rebuild. This one now needs the controls properly wiring in and a bit of blue paint on the copper pipes. Its been about 3 years since I bought the bits so glad to see it nearly done. Surprising how many hours go into something that looks so simple.
The new rig has:
Dual puncture proof wheels on solid axle.
Pump located lower down to avoid catching air.
Mesh strainer on inlet.
Vacuum gauge to check for blocked foot valve or strainer.
Shorter 7m suction hose with stainless dip tube.
Clear hose on dip tube for instant feedback on fuel cleanliness.
Shorter 10m discharge hose on autorewind reel.
Puisi 120 pump.
25m power lead.
Decent hose storage
Decent dip tube hanger to avoid foot valve getting squashed.
Drip tray under strainer to protect pump.
Runs nicely at about 65lpm with tanks level.

Just a bit worn had it tested last week and my guy never picked up on it but I knew it had a bit of play in it and wasn’t going to get better with use, so bit of time over Christmas

going to strip it down fit new slew ring, make a new key way for the slew pinion, fit a winch, make a manual extension for it and give it a repaint

My crane through a spaz today.

While lowering it jumped and stopped. Carried on fine afterwards. Did it 3 times, If it had sensors you'd think it was them cutting out, if it had check/load hold valves on lift ram you'd blame them. Oh well somthing else for me to look into.

Seems every bugger has given up on 2023 already and not bothering to do any work!
Solicitors haven’t been answering phones / email in the last week, council are processing naff all planning permissions.. nothing seems to get done this time of year!!

Yep had a 20' container supposed to be collected yesterday phoned about 11 as was getting worried, no problem I'll call you back. No call back phoned about 2pm, sorry the office is now closed we cleared the whole site this week only thing left the container, clients wife not too pleased

contra charge them for the buggeration factor and grovelling to client's wife ------ once they've collected it ... no one has any sense of proper service these days

Yep we were discussing earlier with the client. If they'd have phoned back and been honest would have been understanding but don't be
aholes and not phone then close early

I ordered 4x dolav boxes (pallet boxes) on ebay yesterday morning. In my yard today. 4 delivered for £240 Inc vat. Bit more battered than in photo but will do the job.

Racor and that pump is standing up to diesel pretty good

Deisel is a lot kinder than Kero on rubber seals. We have been using a Milwaukee M18 for 2ish years for dewatering and other misc jobs and it's finally failed today (faulty switch?) So today we have started using the yellow chinesium version that's been sat ready for a few months. Preforms as well as the red one.
Turns out the red one is still under warranty so fingers crossed.
