couple to give you a giggle for starters .... couple of hours on the strimmer yesterday afternoon, massacring the final remains of the long grass, beside the drive, in the awkward spots .... back to the roots

after I took me cap off

cap was covered - should've been a bit of a clue, 'fore I'd even spotted this in a mirror ... overalls were just top to toe brown

one for all you ratchet strap 'maestros' .... let's see you keep this lot contained/restrained ... there's 4 x 20m ropes on there

Vicki emptying her attic in readiness for a move shortly ... had to make some space for it all ...

went down the side of the drive after tea, to shift yesterday's lawn mowings and rake up the strimmer's haylage crop ... walking down with the barrow and come across a serious set of tractor tyre prints, in MY grass bank WTF???

All the way down to the bottom to the hedge and ditch ........WTF were they playing at and why ?
Flagged one of the traccies down later on (mowing and baling the hay fields around us ATM) and asked WTF they'd been playing at .....
" Ah .. er .. sorry about that .. was me! ... one of the guys on the big baler reckoned he'd lost a bale last night - was dark and he saw it come out the baler, but it wasn't there when he came back around ... must've escaped "

I can't believe it didn't demolish the hedge and keep going ... so mystery of the tyre tracks explained .... wasn't best pleased when I found 'em ... thought some stupid tw*t was trying to take a short cut, 'til he found the hedge and ditch

raking up the last of the 'massacre', yesterday afternoon, after the kids'd gone ..

(this is where that big bale ended up the other night )

can't believe it didn't keep going through the hedge!

Rolled in there five to, this morning, right behind him ... sadly didn't get a lot of pix, but 'twas a busy two hours ...
took longer to assemble and rig the spreader bar and then dismantle it all, than it did to do the lifts - log, shepherd's hut, steps up to the hut's doorway and level up a.n.other one .... was home by 11.30

the hut on the right is what the shepherd's hut had top go over, after we'd lifted a gert lump of tree trunk out the way and strategically re-located it

Must've had an inspection recently as someone had determined the shepherd's was way too close to the two underground LPG tanks - like 10 ft - and had to get moved ... only available, suitable space was t'other side of said shed
some sort of 'school' 6-18 year olds ... the shepherds're some sort of 'private study rooms' looking at the desk set ups in them ... they're all over the place .. nice looking place, but bet the fees are summat else.

if Russ keeps on chucking these 'odd days' at me I'm gonna end up owing the bloody tax man this year, at this rate ... four days betters me pension ... done six in the last two weeks

the old girl got an airing today .. been wanting to chuck some more blocks in the wood shed for a while and 'the boss' has also wanted some bags of stone and clean 40mm moving out of sight (from her side of the trellis ) so ...
stuck a trailer on the back of the P38 and lifted said bags out and loaded 'em

then moved the stone bags over behind the 'shrubbery'

keeps SWMBO happy

amazed they stayed in one piece TBH

parked her up and ran the bags down to the woodshed

where they got slung into said shed ..... after it'd stopped lashing down ... did it ever rain for an hour .. none forecast here after one o'clock today

Absolutely belted it down, thunder and lightning for an hour here at 2pm- right at the start of a little event my mate was having in my field
Luckily tha gazebos held up, by 3pm the weather was perfect and his new business idea was a great hit

stretched her legs again this afters ...have had an 800 kilo bag of shingle sat here, for a considerable time .. never got spread when we were doing the wall caps and having a tidy up, I thought I'd better spread it, 'fore the bloody bag let me down ..

bag fits nicely between the veggie boxes

Pam on the paint brush, giving the trellis a coat ... fair play she's damned quick at that

stuck the forks on after and shifted me scrap bin, ready for me scrappy to pick up, when I give him a call, then put the 'poorly moggy' cage back out the way ... was hard work getting it out by hand, the other week and wasn't gonna try and put it back without some help

's a full stretch to where it lives

back and ribs're complaining tonight, after unloading and spreading that shingle with a 1RB ... easy enough at the top of the bag, but 400kgs down it starts to get harder and heavier ..... and haven't wielded a shovel in anger in a while
spirit's willing .. the rest thinks we're getting too bloody old for it ... and no -- 'fore anyone asks -- there was no way I could get the 8015 anywhere near it .. or believe me, I would've in a heart beat

Why didn't you cut a hole in the bottom of the bag. And use the duck

did consider it Dyl, but distributing it about between the boxes, would not have been easy, without getting it in Pam's plants ... bag was about on the limit, with some 'interesting' noises coming from it, as I picked it up and I think opening it up would have resulted in a full house split .... then I'd have really had some shovelling on my hands ... at least I only had to get it out the bag where I wanted it, as I moved it about and wasn't too bad 'til I got half way down

It is legal to do so you are not on public Road,

connect the grader bucket to the VR deposit the contents with the help of combining the duck and VR with the grader bucket with an accuracy within one inch,
The task is therefore accomplished without your hands neither in contact with the bag contents nor the spade

to get at said trailer involves moving several items parked in front of the trailer, including circa a tonne of Deutz powered power pack, 450 kilos of 70mm pinned forks and various sundry items
once out I'd then have to unload from the trailer;
a 36", 30", 24", 18" & 12" bucket on 50mm pins for the VA-r,
a 500mm bucket on 70mm pins,
a spare, refurb.-ed Lemac QH,
a 600mm Kinshoffer 605 clamshell,
a 1000mm Kinshoffer 605 clamshell,
an hydraulic brick/block grab
and an extension arm pick up for my Bomford flail head'
plus whatever else I've forgotten about
before I could use yon trailer......
and then put it all back afterwards.

were I dealing with 10t of shingle this might well have been a 'good' plan of attack .....
for one bag, dangling it on the bag lifter, on the end of the dipper, seemed favourite
however knackering the 1RB was

dead fridge (degassed) makes a great scrap bin and an old file cab from Vicki's - not worth keeping - back is bollo-ed

the results of the shingle spreading exercise .. boss was happy

and the wood shed replenishment - thus far .. reckon it'll take two of me cagefuls yet ... just got to work out how to get 'em out from where they are currently - got a lot on top of 'em ... which I'd like to leave where it is

Well Well you have now been Given the recipe for Future Project
Lesson learned is that you get your trailer out
So if you need the trailer in the future it's just backing up to it and connect to it
And if you need One Of The 70 items that are now Behind of Your trailer you Only need to move 1 trailer instead of Moving all 70 items to get access to one item namely the trailer

OK it seems that the only viable Solution is to convert every attachment to S60 smack it in a container and ship it to me then you have plenty of Space

Get a cheap forklift and some pallet racking and store your stuff vertically. You could even put a small roof on top of the racking verticals and at least offer some cover for your poor equipment stored out in the weather with out a shed

You'll be amazed at how much space at ground level you can recover when you rack stuff up on pallets, as well as having easy access to anything, any time.
Oh and don't think you can make do with something else with forks instead of a proper forklift. As you would know from your fab shop days, the manoeuvrability and lifting capability of a proper forklift, (with sideshift & container mast), can't be beat. Forklifts can be cheap and even an electric one with tired batteries would do. Pallet racking second hand is cheap if you look around.

absolutely Dave ... funnily enough I was looking at a very cheap Nissan on FB MP this morning, with an ''oil leak'' .. waiting to hear back as to where the leak is - engine or hydraulics. ... triple container/low head room spec. mast with side shift) ...

issue with racking, for what I'd want to put on it, is weight ... would need concrete bases to stand any racking on.
had all sorts of racking in work

as for manoeuvrability, yes FLT is good ... duck (with or without a VA-r) is better in open space IMHDO

Hi Druid.
Yes, you definitely need the racking to be mounted on concrete. However it's not hard to put concrete bases down only where they are needed to support the racking. Also put a right angle or two in the layout and maybe some support from the embankment behind your equipment to add extra stability if you're putting heavy stuff up high.
FLTs are pretty simple, an oil leak shouldn't be too hard to fix. However to check the cooling system and see if it's had coolant or just rusty water. Head gasket and welsh plug failure can put water in the oil in a poorly maintained FLT. And unfortunately most FLTs get very little maintenance until they fail
